Oaks Brisbane Aurora Suites

We requested our rooms be configured in a specific way prior to arrival. Unfortunately, when we checked in, the room setup was the opposite of what we had requested. The master bedroom had two single beds instead of the queen bed, while the second bedroom, intended for my sons, had the queen bed instead of the two singles. When I contacted reception to have this corrected, the staff member who came to the room appeared annoyed and said, "What's wrong? There is a queen and two singles." I explained that the issue was that the beds were in the wrong rooms and that, as the parent, I needed the ensuite attached to the master bedroom. He then spent more than half an hour in the corridor, much of that time on the phone. We were tired after travelling and had planned to have a short nap before attending my son's graduation event that evening. Instead, we had to wait while another staff member was called and both rooms were rearranged. By the time the work was completed, there was no time left to rest before we had to unpack and get ready for our event. We were also disappointed that the television would not allow streaming services. I don't understand the purpose of providing Wi-Fi and a smart TV if guests cannot log into their own Netflix, Disney+, or Amazon Prime accounts. As it rained for most of our stay, the children were unable to use the pool and were looking forward to watching something in the room. We have stayed at this hotel twice before and never experienced this issue. When I raised the streaming problem with reception, the response I received was simply, "Good luck with that," which was not particularly helpful or professional. Overall, while the room itself was comfortable, the incorrect room setup, the lengthy delay in resolving it, the streaming issues, and the dismissive response from reception negatively impacted what should have been a special stay for my son's graduation.

The apartment is in a great location, clean and layout is great. The things that could be improved is have a couple of extra sponges, tea towels, more dishwashing liquid and more dishwashing powder. They provide something equivalent to a thick tissue (not even a Chux) to wash the dishes and pots - useless. Dishwashing liquid, the size is not even a teaspoon of liquid - good to wash only a couple of cups with the tissue, same for the dishwasher powder - 1 wash, but if you are staying more than one night, it does not suffice - we stayed for 3 nights and ended up using the shampoo on the last day to wash the dishes, cups and glasses. Not good enough for the price being charge. It comes across as being cheap and tight. We also used the bathroom hand towel to dry the items. They do themselves a disservice being so cheap. Also they need to provide at least one two platters and a bowl to make a salad - the kitchen facilities were quite poor. It is a two bedroom apartment, which sleeps 4 people.

I enjoyed my stay so much.my visitors were so happy.
