Was so excited to stay at this luxury hotel, unfortunately our experience was very poor. Rude front of house staff immediately upon arriving, hidden $1000 upfront security fee required, ( our travel agent confirmed she had zero knowledge of this), tired rooms needing an upgrade. I have never had such a negative experience and felt a hostile atmosphere at a hotel that I had to ask to speak to the Director of Guest Experience, Mark, who was nice, professional and apologetic but the damage was done and nothing changed, still 90% of staff extremely rude. He did give us $200 credit to our room to spend in the restaurant, which would have been ok if you enjoy a NY minute steak riddled with fat, that we could only eat 50% of, staff don’t ask why you didn’t eat your meal, clearly they don’t care! Plus, the waiter then chased us through the hotel yelling we didn’t have credit on our room and to come back and pay? Luckily Mark was there to stop him and correct him but how embarrassing?! To top it off a pair of earrings was stolen from our room by a member of housekeeping. Of course an ‘investigation’ proved pointless because who is going to admit to stealing and lose their job as well as possibly being charged?! But it did absolutely happen. The divide between ‘standard guests’ and ‘executive guests’ is plainly visible, with executive guests being treated nicer by staff, especially at check in and by the pool. With us having our bags searched before entering the pool area, not even a bottle of water allowed, but executive guests don’t get bag searched, guess they are too privileged for that! The pool staff who take you to your lounger are lovely and a credit to the hotel, but the waitresses, bar staff and restaurant manger are all horrors, rude, unfriendly and clearly feel entitled to tips for average service. That’s if, as a standard guest a waitress bothers to ask if you need a drink every hour or so, whereas, executive guests are fawned over consistently. It’s also easy to see who the ‘poorer’ guests are as they make you use a different colour of lounger so that’s nice?! The only absolute diamond in the rough is the concierge Charley, a lovely woman who couldn’t be more helpful, polite and professional, like speaking to someone from a different world. They do not deserve her! Location is good, beautiful views of the bay, about a 25 minute walk to Ocean Drive and the beach, lovely local restaurants a few minutes walk from the hotel so that was nice, since the hotel food is average. I would urge you to believe the reviews then make up your own mind.

Location is good but hotel require maintenance in rooms and corridor. Linens are white and clean but Very poor quality room conditions, bathroom and furniture contains stains and dirty floor. Sofa and rugs wet and old stains, not very hygiene for little kids.
