Bad - Bed & Breakfast and Design

Wonderful little B&B just a stones throw from the city gates duomo and Via Etnea. A hub of activity with the fish market just a few hundres metres away , Wonderful to see the sights , sounds , smells of daily Sicilian life just on your doorstep. Great design, quirky little place, its wonderful to see what actually liee behind the grand steel street doors. Great prise , great owners , very very helpful . There have been 1 or 2 gripes about the coffee / croissant breakfast just around the corner at the , but for me this is a perfect breakast sat on the pavement outside the Etoile D'or just watching the world go by

Overall, the hotel was great. Really appreciated all the design touches. However, wasn't satisfied with my particular room. Felt more like a hostel in it.

This hotel had Pros and Cons. Pros: Great location close to shops, restaurants, a bus station (about 2 stops from central station), a small park and one of the shopping streets. Breakfast is included in the room price but not provided by the hotel: You get a voucher and get it from a nearby restaurant. I've seen reviews where people complain about it but its actually quiet good - coffee (espresso, cappuccino or Americano) and a pastry (there are 5 or 6 to choose from). For an extra 50c we chose from a different range of pastries ( a yummy one with sausage, ham and cheese in it). What's even better, was that you could get this at any time of the day as this place is open 24 hours. A major positive for me was the air conditioning in the room - it was brilliant - select turbo and the room is nicely chilled. The heat was unreal (end of june) so being Irish with pasty white skin incapable of tolerating this heat, I needed good air conditioning and got it with the rooms in this hotel. HOWEVER, there were some cons... there were ants in the bathroom (the ant bait station behind the toilet didn't seem to deter them!), the beds were ridiculously small (I'm not a big person) and very uncomfortable. Prepare to need to get out of the bed to turn over or else fall out of it.

Two minutes away from the legendary hustling fish market, and five minutes away from the three central piazzas and main drag, Via Etnea, this idiosyncratic B&B enables you to live like a local in your own apartment, with friendly staff to help out as required. Keep your wits about you in the heart of this mini-Napoli, Sicilian style, and enjoy the local colour!

This hotel is in a great location, walking distance from great bars, restaurants and sights. Around the corner from the buzzing fish market, which is a great place to eat but a little difficult walking through on a hangover! The hotel itself is amazing value for money. Very quirky art all around, friendly staff and clean. The café where breakfast is served provides the most delicious pastries and even friendlier staff.

Lovely room, lots of space. Interesting design/art. Right in the centre and near the fish market. Only issue for some might be no lift but the staff will help with your bags. V helpful friendly staff who want you to enjoy the city. Breath of fresh air from the rest of our experiences in Sicily (which sadly was : generally unfriendly service aimed at extracting as much money as possible out of tourists with as little effort as possible in terms of service or quality).

The B&B is located on the 3rd floor of a very conveniently located apt. building. There is a common room with a fridge and drinks payable on an honor system. Key is provided for adjacent bathroom. Funky design throughout. It's a few hundred yards from the very active fish market and the Piazza Duomo. Shopping is easy both in the Via Aetnea and the flea markets which are a few minutes walk away. The bus station and train station are also in walking distance, as is the King Cine (Italian language films only). Breakfast coupon is given for the nearby Etoile de Oro Cafe. Location is fantastic, staff very helpful and friendly.

The rooms were very comfortable, clean and cool. The staff was really helpful and positive. Bad B&B is right next to the bus station and the elephant square, making it very practical to stay here. The breakfast was a coffee and a pastry in a café near by. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here! :)

Cool and quirky B&B, the design of the large rooms was fun and different and I really liked the design. Very centrally located in Catania so easy to access the main areas. The staff were really helpful. The only down side is the area feels a little run down but I think we were spoilt by other places in Sicily and this is all just part of being situated in a central location in a larger city.

The hotel is located to all the main attractions, shopping and dining. Parking is available on the street outside of the hotel. Pietro welcomed us and was so kind. He made sure we knew where to go for dinner etc and was not hesitant to provide us with exciting recommendation. The hotel itself is very cozy, clean and comfortable. If you want convenience and a wonderful experience, you should book your stay here!
