"Poor experience"

6.0

Well I have to say we stayed here before and it was fantastic in 2025. This year I brought a group and as very disappointed.. the elevators were out at least once a day causing two of our friends In Their 60’s to have to take the stairs to the 6th and 7th floor.. the housekeeping you had to flag down or go to the front desk because they didn’t clean the rooms.. the outdoor patio lights were all out and I requested the repair as we were all playing cards and couldn’t see.. they were sending someone asap.. well we went to bed, woke up, and still not working. Nobody showed..The best thing they have going is the front desk staff who were all fabulous!! For the cost way to expensive for no responses!

"Save your money and rent a condo or something."

2.0

I am extremely disappointed with our stay and nobody from management reached out during this time or after. During our stay the elevator (one elevator because the other is not operational) kept going down and I was with my physically handicapped child and no one reached out to see if we were ok. My daughter kept having to climb 4 flights of stairs in pain. My daughter has Cerebral Palsy and wears full leg braces to assist her walking and has pins and plates in both her knees which makes stairs extremely uncomfortable and difficult to navigate. This hotel needs serious repairs and should not be falsely advertising themselves as a luxury beach hotel with easy access and renovated rooms. It is not. I sent the front desk staff pictures I took of the room, which was in serious disrepair. The room had outlets with no covers on them, a extension cord plugged into a lamp that was had frying marks on it like it had almost caught fire, the furniture was all banged up, the mattress was incredibly hard and worn and made spring coil noises every time you moved on it, the sliding glass door didn’t open as someone had broken off the handle and I could see the handle sitting on the balcony outside. No housekeeping ever came the entire four days that we were staying there. And the worst part was the elevators that did not work. When we arrived, one elevator was already out of service and we were told by the front desk it had been down a month, but no one told us until we got there. The other other elevator kept going down every day for hours at a time which would trap us upstairs or downstairs because it was so difficult for my daughter to navigate the stairs. It was one of the worst vacations we have ever had, all because of this hotel and the dilapidation of it. I will never stay there again, or recommend it to anyone. Save your money and go somewhere else.

"Disappointed!"

4.0

The location is great but the hotel not so much! There is easy access to the beach and pier but not your room! We had to carry our bags down from the 7th floor! We stayed one night and the elevator was serviced twice while we were there. The second elevator has been out of service for a long time. Our room was clean and the staff were very nice but overall the hotel is very run down. It needs a total makeover.

Beachfront.

Elevators inoperable. My 79 year old mother and I had to walk up to the 9th floor twice and down 3 times. This was unacceptable. We should have been placed in a room on the lower levels.

"Buyer beware - Maintenance needed"

2.0

Despite its desirable location on the beach, there is a lot of work the hotel needs to do. It is clearly understaffed in terms of housekeeping and needs a LOT of maintenance. The one working elevator’s screeching and scraping door made every trip up or down nearly unbearable. We experienced the following: the broken tiles in the elevator floor questioning the safety, overflowing trash cans in main hallways, burned out security lights on our 6th floor, the filthy floors everywhere - including in our guest room, broken pullout bed, cracked room furniture exposing the MDF in our room, the infamous elevator, ripped lounge chairs sagging at the area where you would sit, thread-bear pool towels (when available), inoperable umbrellas. We honestly felt duped. We were told the hotel was full. Clearly the Tides is not investing any of its profits in the upkeep of this property. It is very sad state of affairs and we could not wait to check out. The sign in elevator mentioned “disarray” and Magic Happening - what a joke. The few staff they did have working tried their best, but you can only do so much when surrounded in such an environment.

"Disappointing beach stay"

4.0

Not impressed by this basic beach side hotel. Informed we would need to pay extra if we wanted to check in early even if the room was ready. Multiple light fixtures in the room did not work, uncovered electrical outlet, broken chair and table, floor so dirty and sticky it stained our feet and socks, and only one working elevator for 9 floors (we were informed the other elevator has been out of service for at least the last 6 weeks). It felt like a frat party had crashed the night before we arrived and no one cleaned up after.
