Homewood Suites by Hilton Atlanta NW/Kennesaw-Town Center

We made a last minute reservation and got an ADA room. This shower was a roll-in shower which meant that the entire bathroom floor was basically the shower. There was a drain in the floor of the shower and another in the middle of the bathroom floor. All ok but the grout just did not look clean. All in all it felt gross. The vanity was fine and looked spotless. The rest of the room felt clean and tidy if slightly dated. My biggest problem was that it was $380. WAY too much in my opinion. I would never have agreed to that knowing the condition of the room.

My son and I were in town for a baseball tournament in the Atlanta area. During the 2nd night of our stay, (6/22) we were woken up at 3:30am and sat on the curb for almost 45 minutes due to the fire alarm going off. When we re-entered the building, the Cobb County Fire Marshall had posted warning signs on every single entry door and on the check-in counter. "Fire alarm is out of service. Fire watch has been posted. Extreme caution should be used by anyone deciding to re-enter or remain in this structure before the required life safety system is repaired and made operational." At 6am (6/23), I explained to the front desk, that I didn't feel safe staying there with my son. A young women behind the desk, told me the fire plan was that she (or someone) would be "walking the entire hotel periodically to look for smoke coming from under the doors." If there was a concern they would notify each guest. I communicated that safety was my #1 concern and this hotel does not feel safe and we would need to relocate to another hotel. During check-out later that day, a gentleman who said he was the 'maintenance manager' informed me that an alarm had actually gone off at 12 the day before and he 'had SILENCED IT’ before he left for the day and he didn't think there would be 'any problems'. He didn't know why it had gone off in the middle of the night. It is HIGHLY concerning and confusing to me why guests were not alerted during the day that there was safety concerns. We should have been informed so that we could make decisions, before we went to sleep that night, for the safety of our families. There was a senior citizen in a wheelchair, dogs, multiple families with kids all sitting outside at 3:30am. Completely unacceptable. The fire alarm was going off again while we checked out. The Fire Marshall returned and shut down all the elevators 'for safety.' I was told that we would be refunded for all 5 of our unused nights that had been paid in advance. It is now 6/29. I have spent hours on the phone, email, etc. trying to get resolution and still do not have it. We prepaid over $2000 for 7 nights and we stayed for 2. We booked with a 3rd party and they informed me that the hotel will only authorize $1129 as a refund. Homewood Suites has not done what they said they would do. Homewood Suites by Hilton Atlanta/Kennesaw, should have been upfront with guests about the alarm issue during the day on Saturday. We would have left on Saturday during the day and not slept there that night. They should not be keeping ANY money from the guests who were put in this situation. It appears like this hotel puts profit over guest safety. Guests BEWARE!! I hardly ever take time to leave reviews (unless service is AMAZING), but I found this hotel to be negligent in their handling of guest safety and in their response in the aftermath of this situation. I always read reviews before booking, so I hope this can help others make a decision that is safe for their family. We found the location/city to be safe and convenient to many restaurants/grocery, Target, etc.. There are plenty of Marriott, IHG & other great hotels in Kennesaw, Marietta, the Battery area, etc. This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Would never have expected it from the Hilton brand. IT MATTERS WHERE YOU STAY.

Great location, cleanliness and great staff.

We had a wonderful time , the room was great, very clean and plenty of room for 3 people. The pool area was a little slice of heaven with just enough of a garden feel to relax. The employees were wonderful and are even shipping a set of very expensive headphones( that were left behind,)back to us

Breakfast is good, would like to have some egg omelette on the bar.

Excellent location! The hotel is well maintained and the staff is very nice! We enjoyed the comfy bed and extra space of the 1 bedroom layout. The breakfast has several hot options as well as “make your own” waffles. There are several great restaurant choices close by as well. We enjoy staying here and will be back!
