Sunshine Village Hotel

Mit dem "Best Western" Image hätte ich einen anderen Hotelstandard erwartet. Allerdings fehlen mir Vergleiche in Griechenland bzw. Kreta. Wir hatten aufgrund des geringen Preisunterschieds All Incl. gebucht aber nicht immer in Anspruch genommen. Um so mehr nervt es wenn man abends um kurz vor 10 Uhr ins Hotel kommt und keine Gläser mehr bekommt um noch ein Bier zu zapfen. Sicherlich verständlich wenn man Tische voller gebunkerter Getränke sieht aber das kenne ich auch anders. Da hilft auch noch so freundliches Personal nicht weiter. Also besser selber den Kühlschrank füllen. Der ist nämlich leer (Supermarkt ist nicht weit) oder wie alle ordentlich en Touristen pünktlich an der Bar erscheinen.

Booked an AI 8-day vacation for a family of 5 (12m, 15f, 22m, 22m, 49f). Arrived 06/21 early morning. Waiting for the room we had breakfast. We all liked food but dishes were dirty. Soon our room was ready. At this time reception staff was really nice. The real shock was when we saw the rooms. It is like summer camps in the 1970's. But its a 4-star hotel... or said to be. Based on photos you would never guess what you get. An apartment where hall is the kitchenette at the same time plus a very worn & torn dirty bathroom. No wardrobe, only 2 really small shelves. Beds done for 3. They apologized & brought us 2 other sets of linen. We looked around dumb of shock. Immediately wanted to check net to find another hotel. You needed a code for the wifi. You have to pay for it in the rooms. So went back to lobby, checked opportunities, taxied there,booked, taxied back. I told the receptionists we move out they started to blame me saying I should have asked for a wardrobe or put our clothes in the kitchenette (!!!), and anyway we came 5 though we booked only for 3. Showed me a paper to prove this - saying "3 adults, 2 children" - simply missed to read it. I paid the total vacation in advance so they gain full price for serving one breakfast. Before booking I read all traveler reviews and have to admit its my fault not to listen to warnings not to come here. Staying in downtown, having chats with Greek llocals (all really nice) very interesting they all know whats going on there.

We only stayed for two nights and did not have high expectations for the price we paid. However it was worse. Our room was located in the basement had windows and a balcony but all facing the wall. The bathroom had mold. We asked for another room but apparently they were fully booked.

Wir haben für einen solch günstigen Übernachtungspreis nicht viel vom Hotelessen erwartet, waren daher sehr positiv von dessen Qualität und auch der Auswahl überrascht. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Der Pool und der Poolbereich werden täglich gereinigt und aufgeräumt. Und der Ausblick von der Barterrasse ist einfach traumhaft! Die Lage ist recht ruhig, abseits vom Touristentrubel. Man kann zu Fuss zum Strand laufen (würde ich aber nicht immer machen wollen), es gibt auch dreimal am Tag einen kostenlosen Shuttle vom Hotel, der Touristenbummelzug fährt ebenfalls am Hotel vorbei, oder man mietet sich ein Auto. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder!

Erittäin mukava henkilökunta ja viihtyisä ympäristö.

Das Team war nett, aber leider war das Hotel doch ein wenig vom Strand entfernt. Viele schreiende Kinder. Insgesamt ok, aber eher mittelmäßig.

Stayed for 4 nights - it was the best thing that could have happened to us in Chersonissos, Crete. The rooms are spacy, with fantastic natural light coming in. The varanda was a treat. Public areas are well cleaned and taken care off. Plants are mostly smell giving, such as Jasmine, Lime trees and so on. The pool is clean. Towels are replaces daily, rooms are cleaned daily, meals were great. My friend is a vegiterian and always gets stuck at hotel dining rooms - not in this case, all meals had a wide varaity and food was tasty. Pool bar and lobby bar were great. Reception staff were helpful. Well, all the staff were fantastic. Rooms have a key locked safe, air-conditioner, bath-shower, kitchenette that has no use but it's good to have a refrigerator in the room. Place is suitable for families with kids. It's not a luxury hotel, but rather a good, fine, well mantained hotel. Hotel is out of town, but operates a free of charge shuttle service. Nearby are 3 small local villages - it's worth taking a walk. We highly recommend the Best Western Sunshine Village. Hope to be back again.

fantastic stay, enjoyed everything apart from the steep hill if you are wanting to go down to the beach or town, however a short walk up the other way takes you to other supermarkets and old town which is by far better than the touristy parts! Thoroughly enjoyed our holiday there!!
