Super 8 by Wyndham Yorkville

The first room we were given had visible mold on the bedding. We had to argue with the staff to get them to even check it out. We couldn’t get our money back - they refused - so they gave us another room. Second room was filthy, towels were disgusting. and the stench of mildew in the room was suffocating. I left there sicker than a dog.

The price

The hotel looked looked like it was run down. My bathroom door handle was loud, and so was the bathroom exhaust fan. The air conditioner was not that good. (It took way too long to cool the room). The whole place stunk of curry from their food.

Location. I usually stay at this location when I visit the area. The TV worked.

Nasty this time. The room had a strong musty smell, the carpet was stained. I'm not sure if the rug had recently been shampooed because it had a spongy feel to it. No amount of room air freshener could remove the smell. I even pulled out the air conditioner filters and cleaned them, and they were totally clogged. I don't remember seeing any coffee in the room by the coffee maker, but there was an open bag of coffee condiments and someone left their lighter on the coffee tray. When I went down for breakfast I thought a waffle sounded good, but there were no cups for the mix so I settled on frosted flakes. The counters and tables looked like they needed a good wipe down. When I returned home I had to wash everything and wipe down items because the smell was on everything.

The area was good and easy to walk and find eating places. Breakfast was very basic. Should be improved. Room had a hot tub with jets but the jets didn’t work. Overall ok!

I have always stayed at Super 8 in several cities, I smelled a lot of cigarette smoke in the room, but I believe it is an isolated case because the night outside in another room was ok

The food was expired. The apple and cranberry juice was expired. The shower water in room 222 smells like sewer. I took a shower and my hair and my body smelled liked sewer. The only breakfast food available was waffles and cereal at 8:35 am. I asked the staff to please taste this juice and they said it was fine. It was not me and 4 other guests smelled the water and they all said it tasted bad and expired.

Property smells both outside and inside. Pulling up to the hotel, the parking lot and building are run down. You can tell they’re working to renovate. Front desk was extremely friendly and check in went smoothly. Room didn’t smell, thankfully, and it was quiet. A/C worked well and hot water didn’t run out during shower. This worked for this stay, but I wouldn’t stay here, again.
