Kigali Serena Hotel

The place was good and it worked well for my stay

I did not like it at all that I paid everything for my stay while checking out, but afterwards I saw that the hotel tried to charge my card, which I had blocked. Instead, they made my card invalid in the system! Annoying! They had no business checking my card after I had paid for all incidentals.

After many visits to Kigali, this is first time staying at the Serena. Very homely, the complex is very lefty; good mix of indoors and outdoors. Very responsive to comments and issues. Staff were very friendly and personable. Location is superb as most of my business and workshop activities were in the district so lots of easy walking.

Serenity and Cleanliness

The breakfast was very good as well as the dinner. Excelent food. Good staff.

The matress was very hard. At the reception I asked to be changed to another room. I was told that the matresses in all the rooms were equal. Then because of the door problem (reported below) I did changed rooms and the matress was fine. Clearly I was deceived at the reception. Is not a way to treat a client. Most of the electrical outlets in the room didn't work. The floor behind the bedroom door wasn't clean. When entering the shower stall, the glass door simply fell to the floor, shattering into a thousand pieces. When I reported the situation (politely) by phone to reception, I was met with rudeness. The wifi is extremely slow. It was not possible to work on the computer linked to the hotel network.

Serene and comfortable environment. Great location.
