Burning Shore Hotel

The 5 star rating is wrong. It was the Protea hotel rating which it is not anymore. There is no restaurant anymore. No airconditioning no heating. Kettle leaking. Lights not working. No laundry service. Windows cracked. Wood rotting

Breakfast was mediocre. Nice sea views.

This is not a HOTEL. It's a house with many rooms. The superior rooms are being advertised as standard rooms. The Standard room is pathetic. Windows don't close. Counter is stained. Room was old and rustic. I was refused the more decent room because "I had not paid" before arrival although I have already provided by credit card details upon booking. The rates are too high for even the superior room. Only when I refused to occupy the standard room, was I upgraded to the move decent "superior room". Very poor. Will never recommend this place.

Breakfast was ok. I booked a family room, after which I was contacted by the hotel that the family room will not be available and I was given another room. Upon arrival the promised room was also not available. What a disappointment.

Sea view and welcoming

A lot of maintenance required (paint, rust, shower, windows…) and restaurant closed and no alternative in town (except the petrol station)

The staff was super amazing, the place was warm and welcoming, the breakfast was prepared with ĺove everyday.

Honetstly I am just unhappy that I couldn't stay longer

The place is not well maintained. Door knobs are off, curtains and bed linen torn, no fridge in rooms, carpets are dirty.
