Hodson Bay Hotel

We recently held our XL Store of the Year Awards event at the Hodson Bay Hotel, and choosing this venue was an easy decision given so many successful events we have hosted in this hotel previously. From the setup of the Clonmacnoise Suite to our guest check in and our final departure, everything ran so seamlessly. We received a Enthusiastic Céad míle fáilte from the hotel’s Director, Tim Hayes, and General Manager, Johnny Connaughton, which set the tone for an outstanding event. A special mention must go to Mary O’Connell and Amanda, who consistently went above and beyond to ensure that every detail was taken care of, including some of our more unusual requests. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and willingness to help were exceptional. The gala evening was a fantastic success, with a culinary masterpiece expertly orchestrated by Michael. We’d also like to send a thank you to Sean and his team in the Residence Bar, who looked after us so well late into the night. The Hodson Bay is a superb location, right in the centre of Ireland offering excellent amenities and activities. Our guests enjoyed the golf next door and a Viking boat tour departing from the hotel’s harbour, both expertly arranged by Mary O’Connell. The biggest highlight of all, however, was the hotel staff. Feedback from our 120 guests was overwhelmingly positive, with constant praise for their professionalism, friendliness, and genuine hospitality. Overall, the Hodson Bay Hotel delivered another outstanding event for us, and we have no hesitation in recommending it as a venue for corporate events or that special occasions.

Myself and my wife stayed here for 1 night for my wife's birthday and our anniversary. We had an amazing experience. We had our room upgraded to a lake view on the 5th floor. Had lovely meal in the waterfront bar where Irina looked after us so well. We also had an excellent experience with Jamie behind the bar who couldn't have been more professional and interesting. We were also lucky enough to get a place on the cheese and wine tasting with Andrez who is the most knowledgeable wine person we have ever met. Funny interesting and explained everything so well. We fully recommend a stay here and we will definitely be back again. 5 star as far as we were concerned. Thanks all. Colin and Grainne. X

We had a lovely stay at the hodson bay hotel. We were so lucky to have a week of hot weather so could enjoy the outside seating. Our rooms were well tended and spacious for family rooms too. We were near a extractor fan which started a bit early but we could have mentioned this if we needed but didn’t want a move to be fair… so Won’t mark it down a star. The food each night in the bar was fabulous! Well done chef/s really excellent and well enjoyed by all the two families. Service was fast too. Morning breakfast was good lots of choice and well cooked also. The swimming pool was good and the gym is fine. We didn’t use the spa but I know it’s very nice. We stayed here about four times over the years, the last being about 9 years ago and I can say it’s still a lovely hotel! Can Totally recommend. The water sports nearby on site is brilliant too!
