Tudor Park Motel Spacious with kitchens 1 minute walk to restaurant and shopping centre and Gisborne Hospital

The rooms were spacious, kitchen simple but sufficient, bathroom spacious, beds comfortable and the decor was inviting and relaxing. Appreciated the double glazing to reduce road noise as it's on a busy road.

This seems like old accommodation with only the bathroom renovated but situated in good location. Room size was adequate with power points available bedside.

Whilst there was No Smoking allowed in the rooms, an ashtray was provided on table directly outside our room and with all our room windows left open for fresh air, seems all the cigarette smoke was also allowed in, as the room smelled strongly of tobacco unfortunately. Mattress springs on one side were very worn out but OK to still sleep on. Kitchen was adequate but showing their age with old individual hot/cold taps and not upgraded to mixer tap. Whilst bathroom renovated, shower screen difficult to close, we had to refit toilet seat as it fell off and spider web happily undisturbed beside the water plumbing.

We booked a King Studio, and was upgraded to a 2 bedroom Suite! Pleasant surprise! It was lovely and comfortable, apart from the occasional traffic noise from the road, and helicopter landing/taking off from the hosputal helipad nearby.

It's not what we dislike, it's the "highlight" of the our stay. Something memorable. After the big weather storm on Wednesday 3/1/2026 afternoon, the electrical power in our unit was cut off. Manager Lisa came to check the fuse box, and called the owner Art, who came quickly to check what was wrong. As it was past 5.00pm, he couldn't get a Sparky in. We troubleshoot, and isolated the RCD for the power circuit to the kitchen, microwave and TV. We requested, and Art got hold of some extension cables for the TV, and a power board, tapping power from the oven to the microwave and kettle. Seems like a science adventure. All good.

The room size , clean and area located. Would stay again very comfortable

Bed - mattress very old and springy , bathroom water , shower door noisy. Loo seat new but not attached properly. But very much happy staying there - nothing major as very comfortable
