Feel like they are under staffed

Under construction, and the outside of the building doesn’t look amazing. Once we were in our room, I was extremely happy. everything was up-to-date the room was spacious. Had everything we needed in it. Did not have to hear the highway all night long thank goodness! heater AC unit worked perfectly… no loud, random noise noises coming from it. I will be staying again. You can’t beat the price for the room we had. I’ve paid triple for rooms that I didn’t even want to get sleep in the bed until I put my own blankets down. staff is always available if we needed anything and breakfast was prompt. Don’t hesitate to stay here. the outside will really deceive you due to the construction.

I stayed two nights in Apr. 2026 at the Daville, PA Super 8. The first room I checked into looked clean other than the beds were not made. The refrigerator was not plugged in when we arrived and I had to remove it from the cabinet to reach the plug to plug it in. The hair dryer was also ripped off the wall and missing. They switched me to another room after I took a picture of the beds and showed it to the front desk staff. The 2nd room had a broken AC unit. The heat worked and it was cool enough outside that the AC not working was not a big deal. The room did have a funny smell to it that I attributed to the AC unit, maybe the refrigerant leaking out into the room. Unfortunately the windows are fixed and unable to be opened to air out the room or cool it down when the AC isn't working. The heat did work OK though. The first night, in the 2nd room, the flapper valve chain on the toilet broke. I did not report this since I didn't want to switch rooms yet again and was able to operate it manually as needed. The rooms were nicely decorated and I considered the bathroom tile and overall room appearance nicer than I expected for the price. Breakfast was the saddest breakfast I've seen as well. Your choices were make-your-own waffles with both regular and sugar-free syrup available. Instant outmeal in a vaariety of flavors. There's also Frosted Flakes or Fruit Loops cereal that my kid described as stale, an individually wrapped hardboiled Egg, a Yogurt cup, 2% milk, Orange Juice, Wonder bread, coffee, or tea. If they ran out of something it was not restocked either. One day there was no yogurt left. The next day there was no OJ and only about 3 slices of bread available. The waffle mix dispensor was improperly configured and took a full 3-4 min to drip out enough mix to make a waffle. The front desk staff were pleasant enough but nothing to write home about. When issues were reported they were minimally apologetic and did what I would call the bare minimum to make it right. They didn't go out of their way to be friendly or display excitement for you to be there at their motel. One spent a minute engrossed in their cell phone while I waiting for them to acknowledge me standing at the desk to ask a question. There is a small fitness center available but I did not try it to have an opinion one way othe other on it. There is no pool, and no ice machine at this location. Overall, this was a relatively poor experience compared to other motels/hotels I've stayed in, however, the price was cheap in comparison to nicer hotels in the area so that makes up for a lot of the issues. The motel appeared to be under contruction while I was there to the extent they are replacing the 2nd story walkway and stairs, however I had no issues with any noise during my stay. There is a decent amount of road noise from the nearby interstate, however once you close your room door it is very quite and I could not hear any road noise, construction noise, nor other guests at all. As long as the price stays significantly lower than other hotels in the area I would consider staying here again.
