GBRoom was very large, comfortable and very clean. Breakfast had very good choices and was always cooked very well.

Was quite run down, wallpaper pealing off in bedroom but was painted over with very bright green paint. A strange smell throughout hallways, very old furniture

Bit of a treck up a hill by foot from the harbour, however, we knew this when we made the booking. This was compensated by the quiet location
GBWe had a great stay at the Shirley from the moment we arrived. Nick very kindly let us check in slightly early as we had to go to a wedding. The room was comfortable and clean with a lovely en suite bathroom. Plus they provide fresh milk for teas in a mini fridge which was a really nice touch. Breakfast was very tasty with locally sourced meat and eggs, we will stay again if we visit Torquay.

Not having a security latch on door it is just a key without the ability to double lock it Felt a bit vulnerable being female single traveller, especially when I heard moving around outside the door at night. It's only a very minor issue, it's just a suggestion, it would not effect me wishing to stay there again.

GBNick & Chen were exceptional couldn't do enough for us, breakfast was excellent, nick told us the best places to eat & drink in Torquay..the location was fantastic just around the corner to walk into town...the room was lovely very clean & comfortable...both hosts were amazing & friendly...definitely going again.
Steepness up to car park however u expect that in devon & cornwall.
