Avoncourt Lodge

The owner of Avoncourt Lodge couldn't do enough for us.... she's also very pleasant to talk to. The hotel has a very calm environment. The breakfast was varied and tasty.... everything was freshly cooked and presented perfectly. Price wise it was very acceptable.

There wasn't a thing we didn't like to be honest.

Everything was lovely .. very welcoming clean cosy .. nothing was too much trouble .. and the food was exceptional.. thank you …

Staff were really friendly & couldn't do enough for you. We felt really welcome. Free parking & WiFi. Very good cooked breakfast. Nice little bar area. Very clean. We didn't like Ilfracombe much but the welcome and friendliness of the staff at Avoncourt Lodge made the stay better than it would have been.

Avoncourt Lodge, apart from the staff, was, compared to other places we have stayed at, average. It was a little bit tired & dated in places & could do with a bit of TLC in the rooms. We had to change rooms due to the advertised double room being a 3/4 bed and very small but this was managed exceptionally well. Neither room was perfect as the 2nd room had, the sink in the room and not in the bathroom and the bathroom itself was small. The paper looked like it was starting to peel off the ceiling in the bedroom and looked like it had encountered previous problems. As a bed & breakfast accommodation, the breakfast was really good but the bed part wasn't for us.

Great hosts, location excellent and great breakfast, all round great.

Lovely 3 night stay. Made to feel welcome from the point of our arrival to departure. Fantastic hosts, nothing too much trouble. And the breakfast was outstanding.
