New Star Beach Resort

Nice hotel set on the hillside with lush well kept gardens. Probably not ideal for folk with mobility problems although they do take you to rooms in golf buggies. A massive beautiful pool with jacuzzi areas. Hotel is right on a beautiful beach with loads of loungers at both beach and pool. Very tranquil and relaxing. Breakfast is good, not loads but has everything you need and staff at breakfast are so nice. Rooms are very nice but we moved to a smaller bungalow as we had no view and our bathroom had a high platform/walk way with stones underneath. Beautiful feature but absolutely lethal going to the toilet in the dark at night. Shame as the bathroom complete with huge bath and walk in shower was enormous. Our seafront bungalow was small but perfect and housekeeping was great. Pool bar is a lovely setting but outwith happy hour drinks and food are much more expensive than the places outside. We would never have left the resort had it been better value. Happy hour drinks are better value though. Bamboo bar at the hotel entrance is excellent- try their pizzas- this place was full each night with hotel guests. Staff were friendly and service was good. We also got a cake and bottle of bubbles for our anniversary- really nice. I would stay here again for the tranquil setting and fab pool but would need to pick the right room.

Lage und Strand/Poolbereich super

Die Grundvorrausetzungen (Lage, Bau der Anlage) für ein Top-Resort wären da. Allerdings gibt man sich hier sehr wenig Mühe. Die Zimmmer sind veraltet, die Reinigung nur sehr oberflächlich. Die hier veröffentlichten Bilder erwecken in meiner Erfahrung einen falschen Eindruck. Das Personal ist wenig interessiert am Gast (schon beim Checkin war die erste Frage vor einem "Hallo" ob ich bei meiner Abreise nicht morgens etwas früher das Zimmer freigeben könne, damit man es schnell wiedervermieten könne - in dem Stil ging es dann weiter). Schade, hier wäre mit ein wenig mehr Mühe viel Potential.

Das Cottage ist sehr gemütlich, gross und geräumig mit einer schönen Terasse und einer Dusche "im Freien". Trinkwassser gab es täglich gratis, sowie Strandtücher. Super fanden wir, dass die Liegestühle nicht mit Strandtüchern reserviert wurden! 😀

Das Einzige, was uns nicht gefallen hat, war das Bett im Cottage. Es besteht aus einer grossen Matratze, die auf einem Podest liegt. Das ist mühsam zum Aufstehen, der Untergrund ist hart und die Matratze kann nicht auslüften. Man spürt die kleinste Bewegung des anderen im Bett und hat dadurch einen schlechten Schlaf. Zwei einzelne Matratzen stehen im Cottage nicht zur Verfügung.
