The Thatched Cottage Inn

We were greeted by the manager Martin who was charming who showed us to our room. The bedroom was lovely and had beautifully laundered bedding and all the facilities required. Breakfast was delicious, beautifully presented and served by a charming young lady. The building is beautiful and has lovely gardens. We will be back

Lovely building and although on a busy junction it was surprisingly quiet. Staff welcoming and breakfast was fine, however, the fire alarm went off three times during the night. Having been woken the first time I managed to get off to sleep agin but after the third time I was awake for the rest of the night. As the room was nearly £90 it was a little disappointing as the room was not that clean and needed some maintenance work.

This is a lovely period place to stay. Staff welcoming and friendly. Centrally placed for visits to Wells, Glastonbury, Wookey Hole, Cheddar Gorge, Clark's Village etc. Every now and then things go wrong in any operation. It's not that they go wrong, but how quickly and painlessly it is put right. There was a slight problem with our bed, but I don't know what more they could have done to put it right. All resolved in less than 5 minutes. They were so apologetic too. Would stay here again anytime!

A lovely break. Staff very friendly and welcoming. A point could be made to bring cash with you as the card machine didn’t work very well and people ended up paying with cash

We were warmly welcomed by Martin and shown to our room by him. The room was large and bright and the en suite bathroom was enormous. Good tea and coffee facility and lovely towels and bath robes provided. We had an evening meal which was excellent and breakfast was also excellent with plenty of choice.

Very comfortable and pleasant bedroom and bathroom. Dininig room a bit austere and menu rather limited as it was "steak night". Service was pleasant.

We had a lovely one night stay here, the landlord and his team were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble! I slept extremely well, the fluffy pillows a massive bonus.. but my partner struggled because the bed was too soft. I have to eat a strict gluten free diet due to coeliac disease and the whole team were very clued up on what I could and couldn’t eat, and how to prepare it safely! I even got gluten free toast with my breakfast! The only downside is the walls are very thin and we could hear everyone downstairs and in other rooms!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. It’s really nice place with a lot of character. I would absolutely recommend and would stay there again.
