Only there for a short overnight stay. Found the room comfortable but it was very hot. Host had already mentioned that curtains had been closed to try & prevent the heat so didn’t think it was worth asking if they had any fans. Room was a good size with everything needed & couldn’t ask for better hosts. Breakfast was exceptional, well presented & really flavoursome bacon & sausage.

Found the stairs a bit difficult as have an ankle injury & struggle but hadn’t made that clear. Wasn’t so keen on the shared toilet & fact that the shower was on a lower level however, just a minor inconvenience and wouldn’t prevent me from staying again.

We stayed at The Countryman Hotel on 3 January, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. The hotel was very cozy, clean, and comfortable, exactly what we were hoping for. Suzanne was exceptionally welcoming and kind. She even upgraded our room at no extra cost, which was a lovely surprise and very much appreciated. Despite it being early January, everything felt open, relaxed, and genuinely hospitable. The room was spotless and well presented, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good, fresh, and well prepared, and it set us up perfectly for the day. Overall, a warm, friendly place with great service. We felt very welcome and would absolutely recommend staying here.

The breakfast was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. Great coffee too! I was well looked after, thank you!

One small point - the signal to my TV in my room wasn't great. It did break up at times.

They said they upgraded my room but on three occasions I knocked my head on the beam.lack of information on activities around area . Staff not always there

Staff not being around all the time. Made me feel like they will only do the basics, very little professionalism.

It was very clean and relatively comfortable.

When I checked in at 8:20, I was not allowed in the door after knocking and ringing the doorbell and phoning a few times, finally a miserable lady opened the door. she had a really bad attitude telling me that I was late for checking in and that I had to pay £20? I said this is not a very warm welcome and she said I had to wait for you, you’re late. Where have you been? I said I’m a tour guide and I’ve been dropping off my customers. I don’t really know if why it was any of her business? She told me that I had to pay £20 for late booking which I found very strange. She told me that it was in the notes and why hadn’t I read the notes? I said because I’ve been busy all day! Frankly I was disgusted by her attitude and felt very uncomfortable and wanted to leave but I had nowhere else to go. She was not showing me to my room forced me to pay this £20, which I actually I wasn’t too bothered about, even though I didn’t know anything about it, as she refused to show me where it was in the notes. Very strange experience never experienced something like this ever and I have trusted in many places all over the world. I couldn’t sleep very well. There was a floodlight right outside my window that came through the thin curtains. Also there was no towel in my room which is a basic commodity. If you plan to stay here, make sure you check in before 7 pm otherwise you get a load of shit from this horrible woman. I hope she’s much nicer to you and I hope you get a towel.
