The Covenanter Hotel

Som "outlander"-fan så var det en stor dröm som gick i uppfyllelse att få bo på samma hotell där "claire och frank " spenderade sin andra smekmånad I tv-serien. Hotellet är sådär gammalt och charmigt. Rummen är moderniserade men med bevarad atmosfär.

Inte så mycket att göra i byn. En natt räcker.

The only thing is the walls are quite thin so you can hear music from the pub downstairs and the other guests in their rooms

It’s set in a beautiful historic town. It’s small, quaint, and for any of the Outlander fans, that gives it another star. The bathroom was very nice, with nice new towels, shelves for toiletries, shelving in the shower, beautiful green tiles, a very good shower in pressure and hotness. Everything very clean. The tv was a nice size and you were able to log into your own accounts to view your shows. The restaurant and the bar have a nice separation. The bed was comfy and the linens were great. The room is done very tastefully with a stand alone closet, a dresser, and a Queen Anne chair. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

One of the blinds in the “Covenanter” room did not work and you had to manually fix it to close it. I would rather have two nigh tables vs. one where the suitcases were taking up space. Portable folding luggage racks would be helpful. The room, though historic is small in size especially if you have alot of luggage. Be aware tour buses come very early in the morning with lots of tourists. At night smokers congregate outside near the door making your entrance into the hotel, not great if you don’t like smelling of cigarettes. If there in a weekend, the pub below gets noisy.

We had a wonderful stay at The Covenanter Hotel in the Deluxe Double Room “James”. The room was very cozy, clean, and full of character, with an extremely comfortable bed that made it easy to relax after long days exploring the area. The whole hotel has a lovely traditional and rustic atmosphere, especially for Outlander fans. The staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The breakfast selection was more than sufficient, and we also really enjoyed spending time at the bar in the evenings for drinks and dinner. The food and overall prices were completely reasonable as well. Overall, a very charming and comfortable place to stay in Falkland — we would definitely recommend it.

The atmosphere in the pub is fabulous, the staff ga tactic and the home cooked food is truly delicious.

I liked the quiet part of town; lots of fre parking around the town close by. The breakfast was large and filling.

Hard to find with the GPS: we had to put in the next neighbouring town and watch for the exits and local church. I wonder if a key need of travellers is a good night's sleep: the bed squeaked and was uncomfortable, no extra pillows and rather hard....perhaps it's time to upgrade the beds. If one has mobility issues then one needs help to negotiale steep stairs.

Very friendly staff, good breakfast and clean room.

A little long drive to go sightseeing, but it was worth it!
