We have stayed here on two occasions. There were four of us (two couples) Gary and Philip are wonderful hosts. Breakfast is delicious and plentiful. Rooms are comfortable. We will definitely stay again in the future. Thank you for your warm welcome. Karen

What a great hidden gem of a hotel. The couple running it were perfect,enthusiastic and nothing was too much trouble. Food arrived hot and was always quality. The foom was pleasent and spotless. If we go back to Torquay we WILL be staying here.

beautifully decorated and maintained, the most comfortable bed I have EVER slept in, and I really am like the princess and the pea. The breakfast was excellent and poached eggs cooked to perfection, and I was so impressed with all the effort made to minimise the use of plastic, such as fresh milk in insulated flasks to gave in room for coffee etc and breakfast items such as jams, butters being in dishes not plastic individually wrapped . a thoroughly enjoyable night in a place I will both return to and recommend 👌👍😀😍🧡💜🩵💙💛🫶👏

The couple running it were lovely. They made us feel welcome and nothing was to much trouble. The breakfast was excellent quality food hot as it came to the table. Room was comfortable and pleasent to be in. Wholly recomend this place.

Gary and Philip offer a warm welcome, beautifully clean and comfortable bedrooms and excellent breakfasts. We stayed over Christmas as we were visiting family nearby - and found a little stocking and card outside our door on Christmas morning - such a nice touch! Everything was thought of and everything was made easy. Cleanliness was of an excellent standard throughout. A lovely place to stay.

The whole experience with Gary and Phil was excellent from the moment of booking onwards. The welcome we received on arrival was warm and friendly, and Gary went out of his way to make us feel like friends staying with them rather than customers. The property is stunning and retains many of its original Victorian features, complemented by sympathetic décor and furnishings. We stayed in a superior balcony room, which was well worth the small additional cost. The room was spacious, warm, and beautifully furnished, with an impressive shower room. The mattress was superb, and we enjoyed a very comfortable night’s sleep. The honesty bar is a great idea and is well stocked with an eclectic mix of drinks to suit everyone. Breakfast was excellent, featuring fresh, tasty local produce. There is a good choice available, everything is home-cooked, and it’s all served with a smile.

Spacious, great location , very good breakfast and great hosts .
