Old Orleton Inn - Telford

Didn't like anything in particular

Very bad location, travelled for work and wanted to get a good night sleep. The Inn is on a busy road with traffic all round, too noisy to sleep and room was cooking me as they didn't have air conditioning. Extremely bad night, couldn't sleep as it was so hot and couldn't open the window as the noise was pitch high. I have just taken early morning flight that day and had not much sleep the previous night. Hence want to rest & sleep and have good breakfast to start the next day. but was totally disappointed. Won't recommend for working professional. Also, the inn had no hot breakfast not even a toast or eggs in the continental breakfast. When requested for hot breakfast, answered the kitchen in the restaurant only opens at 12pm. The restaurant was just on the ground floor of the Inn.Extremely unsatisfied.

Great little pub/restaurant/hotel. Very clean with welcoming and friendly staff.

No TV reception ( was hoping to watch a World Cup game 😆 ) and very noisy water pipe work from neighbouring rooms in the middle of the night

Location is right at the west edge of Wellington / Telford. Easy driving to visit places to the west, e.g. Shrewsbury. Easy walking access to the Ercall woods (and from there to the Wrekin if you have time). Rooms comfortable. Staff friendly and welcoming. Parking easy. Restaurant was good; it is a separate business so you have to get your drink from the bar. Room has a fridge, this is not guaranteed in UK hotels. Shower good; no shortage of hot water. Domestic staff looked after the room well.

Breakfast is cereal / croissants left in the room. (I should have researched this a bit more; I would have preferred a proper hotel breakfast. But this is probably why the rooms have fridges.) En-suite bathroom (room 2) was a bit tight: I am glad I was not a tall person trying to use the toilet. Restaurant does not operate on Sunday evening or Monday. (There are several good Indian restaurants in the centre of Wellington only a mile or two away.)

The lovely friendly staff,and of course the bar lol.
