Lovely room, friendly locals and great breakfast!

Booked for 3 nights - on arrival e mailed owner to request to change to two nights. Paid for 3 as staff were unable to authorise 2 nights. Have never had any communication from the owner despite e mails and an over payment of £80 made in good faith - not good! Asked booking.com to help and they advised to contact the owner , kind of a catch 22 that put staff in a difficult position.

Comfortable room, great foods and very well placed for our overnight stay.

Good old fashioned pub with lots of history. Great menu and very generous portions of good Yorkshire food

Lovely spacious comfortable room at the back of the hotel. Great breakfast. Food served all day in the pub too. Very nice powerful shower.

The room was a bit cold in the evening, but not really a problem.

Although breakfast is choice of what you'd like from a full English only plus cereals etc, it was excellent. The evening menu was a bit limited but again generous in portion and really good. Bar was pretty lively too with good choice of drinks. Plenty of tea, coffee and snacks provided in the room.

I had to bleed the radiator in the room to get the heating to work, but after that it was toasty. There was some thick dust on the skirting boards but room was clean otherwise. Hot water was very low in pressure but was hot. The safety light in the room was broken and taped up with black tape. There was a cupboard in my bathroom that had a very noisy pump that kicked in a few times which was a shock but it didn't happen during the night thankfully, would have nice to have been told about that but not really a problem in the end.

A lovely old pub very clean and the room was massive plenty of space to sit rather than have to sit on the bed and meal in the evening was good and breakfast was fantastic
