Regency Guest House

A really nicely presented boutique hotel. Really efficient self check-in process. Great location in central Cambridge. Small but perfectly formed room with lovely decor and a comfy bed! The option for breakfast in a post-Covid world would be amazing but I understand that this would not work logistically in the cyrrrnt climate.

Room was nice and all feather bedding was a nice touch. Very accommodating when extra guest was added to the room. Shared bathroom right next to room and sink in room helpful. Only real downside was being kept awake all night by noisy revellers on Parker’s Piece.

When we arrived there was someone else in our room. We asked for it to be cleaned and were told that it would take 2.5 hours even for someone to arrive to start the cleaning. The delay was caused by the staff member on duty not being immediately available and having to source child care before being able to attend in person. The problem with the room occurred because it is an unmanned hotel and did not follow its policy of sending the room number to guests in advance as is stated clearly on the automated invoice. The hotel also claims to have parking which it does not. In the end we accepted a refund and went somewhere else which because it was late afternoon in half term in Cambridge and rooms were hard to find means we are now £100 out of pocket.

Positives: Location, Price, Nice bed and bedding. Good breakfast. After that, it's all downhill - or rather uphill as I had to climb 4 flights of stairs. I had a room with a shared bathroom. The room was very small, cold and has poor lighting. Good luck trying to put on makeup in the evening. Very small shower stalls in the bathrooms and poor lighting. No paper towels if you wash your hands and no hand dryer either. They do not replace towels even if you throw them on the floor of your room.

It was a homely, comfortable place to stay.

Really good stay. The room was cozy with a nice decor together with a very confortable mattress. The staff was very nice and the breakfast had a bit of everything and with good quality. The bathroom was clean and with the basics same as a hotel. Also kitchen with all amenities including dishwasher, washing machine, iron, etc... Overall very good experience, 100% recommended!

Good location, near national express bus station. In the city. Has restaurants and shops nearby. Good breakfast, friendly staffs. however i booked twin en-suite, I was given double bed and my toilet was outside my room. has to climb staircase to your room.
