Overall good for what you pay
Great hotel in a central location with parking and breakfast. We even got early check in! We were Very happy. The room was lovely and clean with everything we needed. It also had an additional heater which we were happy about as there was a storm and it snowed when we stayed.
The property was very tired and room was terrible, you could write your name in the dust in the bedroom, carpet in the room need a good clean and vacuum, chairs in the dining room had holes in them, one good point was the breakfast really good, but no way is this a 3star guest house , breakfast staff very nice but would never stay here again

Bed uncomfortable, didnt sleep well. Building is tired needs cleaning decorating and an uplift. Great location
Everything I needed for an overnight stay
I was a little annoyed at being contacted several times on the day before and the day of arrival asking what time we would be arriving. When travelling 200+ miles on the British roads this is difficult to estimate! This turned out to be because the host wanted to disappear by 17:15 When we did arrive we were ushered upstairs into a reception room and sat down. Then we were read th rules and breakfast order was taken. Fely a bit like an interrogation. Our breakfast was served as soon as we sat down (at the pre-booked time), but there wasn't much opportunity to ask for extra teabags/milk for the room as the staff disappeared sharpish. Our stay worked out okay and it is in a convenient location for access to York centre.
Excellent service from getting there til leaving. It was our 2nd visit, but it won't be our last. We'll be back soon.
The 2 staff ladies friendly and she cooked me tastly hot, no fuss ,wholesome food breakfast . Only need to put extractor works again in bathroom as inclosed, no window , very comfy and warm room, happy traveller .
