The curtains actually closed completely.

There was a musty smell in the elevator and in our room. My young daughter thought it smelled terrible. She said she would never stay in another La Quinta because of the experience. There was mildew and mold in the room. The floor of every bathtub we looked at (3 different rooms) was worn off and had brown rust streaks on them. The carpeted floor boards looked like they were moldy. It was a dark gray carpet that had orange spots all over it. The door to the last room we checked could hardly open. The handle was extremely difficult to turn. My daughter was so disgusted by the experience that we skipped going down for breakfast. We got in just after midnight and checked in. Because of the growth in the tub we went and asked die another room. We went to the second room and the tub was about the same. So we got a third room to check and it was the best overall. These photos are of the tub in the first room we got. The staff member who was working when we checked out was extremely nice and the best part of the entire stay.
