Such a friendly family hotel, real authentic Spanish. Breakfast great, fried eggs and bacon on request. Very relaxed

We were not able to check in because there was nobody there. I waited on Friday night with 3 small kids for 1 hour. Nobody answered calls, nobody answered messages on booking. No refund. Be careful booking this place.

I’ve been a regular customer over recent years and, on this occasion, I thought that the hotel had a tired feel to it and could benefit from some upgrading. I was surprised that public rooms such as the bar and residents’ lounge were locked after lunchtime and for the rest of the day including access to the pool and surrounding terrace. I presume that was because the hotel was extremely quiet with very few guests and meant limited staffing needs. Also breakfast choices were adequate but reduced on two of the three mornings of my stay.

Hotel sombrío y no muy limpioñ

Very disappointing experience at Hotel y Bungalows Balcón de Cómpeta. We arrived with a confirmed reservation through Booking.com, but when we got there there was nobody at the property to check us in. No staff, no instructions, and no way to access the room. We were left waiting outside with three children, trying to contact someone for help, but nobody responded. After traveling with kids, this was extremely stressful and unacceptable. Because the property never responded, Booking.com later closed the case and we were left without a refund and without accommodation that night. A hotel that accepts reservations should at the very least ensure someone is available for check-in or provide clear instructions. Unfortunately, that was not the case here.
