Location good, ample car parking. Room spacious and. well appointed. Very helpful staff. Dinner and breakfast very good.

There had been a misunderstanding about the bed which had been set up as two singles whereas we had booked a double. However that was quickly rectified.

Bed and breakfast of this standard was very good value. The Dutch owners have introduced a high standard of furnishings in the ensuite bedrooms and concentrate on working with local suppliers to provide high quality, chef-prepared food. The dining area appears to have a good reputation with locals.

The on-line check-in system gave the impression you were dealing with a major international corporation, not a friendly village pub and a lot of extra information seemed to be required. The same goes for reserving a table in the evening. Having said all that, the greeting by staff was charming and efficient and service was excellent.

It was conveniently located for accessing walks in the Northumberland national park and visiting Bamburgh castle. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help and all with a smile. The food was very good.
