The Plough Inn & Restaurant

Excellent Inn, my stopover of choice for an overnighter when working or visiting the Northwest. Pleasant staff, clean spacious rooms, great food and beer in the bar!

I like the format of the Historic pub with the modern accommodation annex in the courtyard. I have saved in a number of these in recent years.

Nothing much, but I would have a appreciated a grip rail in the bath which had a concave base and made it rather slippery also and non slip bath Matt would’ve been useful too but I bring my own because they are often not provided the noisy wedding party in the pub itself was in audible and not a problem. The room was very hot on my arrival as was the day being in the hottest day of the year it is a pity that there is no mechanism to ventilate the room properly from the rear and there is no opportunity for airflow in the room on a hot day and opening the front Window does not do the trick. I have the door open for half an hour in the evening to try and cool the room down, which was 26° on my arrival on my portable thermometer.

Friendly staff and great food at the pub. Spacious room and clean and comfortable.

Rooms are paper thin and can hear people talking, walking around ect
