The Harbour Lights

Great location close to harbour. Brand new, so everything was clean and fresh.

The kettle needs a longer power cable, it only just reached the plug so we couldn't move it around. The spare pillow in the cupboard didn't have a cover on it. A small room, but comfortable. We were on the top floor which was alot of stairs!

Although the entrance, stairs etc were very clean and well presented , our ensuite had spots of urine under the toilet seat and a large mass of dark hair in the shower, cobwebs in room and thick dust in places. It's a shame because otherwise I would give it 5*, they need to deal with the cleaners

It was a pretty place bright and fresh and really comfortable . I liked the access in and out and it was close to everything to have a nice stroll about .

Nothing really although I do like a good coffee in the morning and the machine across the road wasn’t my type of coffee but I didn’t mind there were other places about. But the breakfast hash browns were nice and so was the toast . I would have liked to have spent more time in the cosy pub at least I managed to catch a bit of the footy one night . The staff were really nice too.

Location perfect, room clean and secure, and reception friendly and helpful.

The floor was very slopey in the room and the bed was very soft. There was a slight stale smell in the toilet which came through to the room. Maybe the room hadn't been used in a while and just needed flushing through.

Location was perfect, right by the harbour, just off the high street, the room was clean and practical, the hotel had an air of having just been redecorated. The breakfast served over the road was all right. The price of the hotel was repersentative of Ilfracombe, and included breakfast unlike others...

Whilst it shouldn't be taken as criticism, the hotel was missing those extra touches that promote the idea of luxury, the chair in the bedroom was a folding chair for example - although the room would not have been big enough for a proper chair, breakfasts were ok, but the coffee machine was a work of patience - it took a while to prepare coffee. The price, although repersentative of Ilfracombe goes to prove that Ilfracombe is a pricey place to stay.

Great location and had everything you would expect at this cost.

We noticed the fire alarm had 4 faults on it !! Hopefully this is now sorted! The fire alarm should by law be checked for faults every day.
