The breakfast here is truly delightful, offering an incredible variety of options! I love how conveniently located it is—just a short 10-minute stroll to the town centre and train station. Iain, the owner, was incredibly warm and welcoming; he took the time to introduce me to the town and even adjusted my breakfast schedule to make it more convenient. Overall, it was a delightful experience!

The location was fine for us to walk to town. The room was basic but comfortable.

The breakfast was basic and used cheap ingredients eg poor orange juice, flavoured low fat yoghurt and only instant coffee made in our room.

"Wholesome, honest and warm reception and accommodation - what's not to like?"

There is nothing to dislike, if you set your expectations accordingly before your trip. This is a no frills, authentic/ Old England B&B and way more than expected for the very reasonable rate. Reception was wonderful, breakfast was aplenty and served in the room, which is a welcome change from the usual basement/drafty drawing rooms. Many thanks to Iain and the rest of the team, I will make sure to be back!

A tad more heat, as I noted, would be welcome. However, there are blankets in a dresser on the landing, free for use if you are a winter rat, like me.
