Petty Ranch Inn

Great place if you're on a budget. The room was clean and the lodge is in a great location. Unfortunately, the front desk is only open until 3 PM. All communication was via text after that. The WIFI was terrible and prevented me from communicating with the front desk easily after 3PM. Since the WIFI was bad, the streaming TV didn't work well. Baseboard tile in the bathroom was falling off and revealed mold. The window was broken and repaired(?) with blue painter's tape. Breakfast included? Breakfast was an apple and a yogurt in a bag. The quaint diner/cafe that used to be at this lodge is now a Chinese restaurant. All of this wasn't shocking given the price of the room.

Bed was comfortable and room was clean, but shower faucet was leaking badly even though enough pressure for the shower head. Free breakfast was just apples and coffee or tea.

The room is spacious, has microwave which is a big plus. It is clean overall. However, the bed sheet on one bed had dirty stain marks, and microwave is dirty with solidified currie on the heating plate.

What can you say. This is ZION. But the Pioneer Lodge needs to be updated given its location to park entrance. Its amenities were scratch as best. Worst display of a continental breakfast and the bed is a safety hazard with the bedframe sticking out to catch a shin.

Very good property, with good price

Room was newly renovated and it was clean, however it had no wardrobe to hang any clothes. There was no coffee or coffee maker in the room. We were promised breakfast at 7am, but we waited until 7:45am and there was nothing. The front desk told us that a breakfast bag would be saved for us when we returned in the afternoon, but when we went back at 2:30pm, no one was at the reception even though it was supposed to be manned until 3pm.

Minutes away from the park. Great communication from the property. Clean, cute room.

Terrible experience. The hotel is outdated and by far the worst place I’ve stayed in Zion. The rooms are extremely small, the parking lot and spaces are tiny, and the overall setup is inconvenient. I’m okay with budget stays, but not this one. If you’re just looking for a bare-bones place to crash after exploring, it might work—but it’s definitely not worth the cost. No breakfast included, and the self-check-in process feels impersonal. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The room is really comfy. It’s close to the shuttle bus stop and easy for parking.
