Kingston Motel

Oh wow, I have very low standards when it comes to travellings and even by those, I’m happy I did only one night. Smelly, grimy and sticky. The staff was just impatient and unfriendly in all ways. No working wifi. Unclear if the towel provide were washed. Light in the room broken. I could go on, but you the idea

The first room had 5-6 bees in it but they quickly gave us another room. This was a low price hotel and the room was clean and bed comfortable. That’s all we were looking for and the price was right. Just a few cosmetic issues, squeaky floor, soap dish falling off wall. Refrigerator not functioning, which I wouldn’t have noticed except the door was propped open. You get what you pay for.

The bathroom was horrible, tiles loose on the wall, floor tile grout was gone and replaced with built up dirt, bathtub was filthy, bathroom door had a keyed lock that didn't release when the handle was turn and then locked from the inside. Had to get a guy to come reopen it with a key so we could use it again. The A/C didn't work, almost thought the bedsheets were not changed, two different staff people didn't want to help and one lied, told me there was a smoking room available with 2 beds when I complained after 3 hours at 10PM,because the A/C was still not getting cold, then he called someone, spoke in foreign language and then hung up and told me there were no more rooms available. My friend actually sleep in the car as he was afraid there were bedbugs in this mess and hot room. Dropped keycard off at 8 am and no one at desk and lights were out. An older lady was also dropping off keycards and I said to her this was absolutely the worst motel I've ever been in and she laughed and said it was horribly. Do not go there!

Wie viele preiswerte Motels an der Ostküste wurde auch dieses von einer aus Indien stammenden Familie geführt. Die Hotel-Immobilie an sich war sehr herunter gekommen, aber das würde ich dem Motelbetreiber nicht unbedingt anlasten. Ähnlich schlecht gewartete Motels haben wir auf unserer Reise öfters gesehen. Die meisten Motelbetreiber versuchen dann wenigstens das Beste daraus zu machen. Jedoch unser Zimmer im Kingston Motel war derart dreckig und ungepflegt - so etwas habe ich vor 20 Jahren mal in Neu Dehli erlebt, danach aber nicht mehr: Die Mikrowelle war völlig verdreckt, der Badezimmerboden war noch dreckig, auf den Kommoden/Tischen waren klebrige Reste von irgendwas, die Klobrille passte nicht auf das Klo und fiel fast herunter, im Zimmer roch es muffig -> der blanke Horror. Die Badezimmerleuchte stammte wohl aus einem Garagesale: Man hat sich noch nicht einmal die Mühe gemacht, das Preisschild daran zu entfernen. Alles in allem ein völlig dilletantisch gemanagtes Hotel.

This was exactly what we expected for the price. A dingy old motel. The bedding was clean, but there was a cigarette hole in the comforter. Patchy paint on the ceiling, a fridge we had to unplug because it was ticking like a clock, squeaky floors with every step. But the front desk staff was fine and it was a place to crash at the end of the day.

No coffee maker in room, no coffee in lobby.

For just a one night, adding through it’s ok.

Horrifyingly filthy - non-smoking room? Smelled like an ash tray. Dark - poorly lit room. Door looked like it had been smashed in. You could see light around the frame. They didn't even offer a refund.

the room we stayed in was very old. the floor was squeaky. bed mattress too soft (probably because it's old). thx.
