Portofino Beach Resort

We stayed in one of the Cabanas and it was so lovely !! Very clean and authentic I loved the ocean breeze! If you are looking for a resort that offers peace and quiet this the one! The ocean view from our hammock in the patio was amazing we would definitely return

Beautiful location. Amazing, friendly staff (shoutout to Mark!). It's a little far from town, which we liked, but you will want to rent a golf cart if you'll be here more than a few days. Food was wonderful, especially the steak au poivre. We can't wait to come back.

We had a wonderful 6 night stay here. The staff was exceptional. The cabanas could use some updating but I wasn't bothered since we didn't spend much time in there. We were the unfortunate guests to stay in Cabana 3. I do not recommend this one... If I ever go back I will specifically request to get a different room. Cabana 3 is LOUD. At night we couldn't fall asleep because the kitchen staff was cleaning... talking loudly and banging pots and pans. Same thing early in the morning. This is my only complaint.

This was a lovely, charming property. Restaurant had great food and room right in the beach was great. Beach and kayaking were good. Beach had sargassum but staff cleaned as much as they could. semi-swimable.

Very quiet resort. Staff was attentive and very personable (Evelyn, Luis, Marco) Service from reception to grounds impressive, always placing guest’s needs first. Food was of high quality, individual portioned and priced relative to other resort dining venues (not bar food). Only draw back was the amount of seaweed, sargassum, which collects daily on beach. Obviously outside of their control. The staff literally works all day to remove it, yet their efforts is not enough to encourage anyone to use the ocean. Good thing for the pool. If you are looking for a peaceful getaway, don’t mind a little trek on the bumpy dirt road, I highly recommend Portofino.

Portofino Beach Resort meets all the requirements for a peaceful Caribbean vacation. It’s smallish size allows for tranquil relaxation while it includes all the necessary amenities expected in a tropical resort including a beautiful pool centrally located in the resort, a small scale restaurant with all meals available and very tasty food, an indoor/outdoor bar in the reception/pool area, a dock steps away In which you can access water sports, fishing and boat rides, and finally an outdoor spa for satisfying massages. Its location allows for the most breathtaking morning pictures as the sun shines off the Caribbean coast. What really sets Portiofino apart is the incredibly helpful staff from Vincent the security guard to Captain Mark the boat driver. We appreciated very much the daily breakfasts and transportation to and from the resort that were included. This is especially true for the golf cart pickup at the San Pedro Airport on a rainy, windy night and the Monday, Wednesday and Friday free boat rides to and from San Pedro. Given the location of the resort, we are so very grateful for both of these transportation features and the on-site restaurant. We felt valued and cared for! The only recommendation we can make is regarding the bed and pillows. Memory foam is not a good option in a humid climate. It is also uncomfortable for most people. The sane is true for foam filled pillows. Improved beds and pillows that are of natural materials is highly recommended.

The resort had a really peaceful feel. It far exceeded our expectations for the write up from the travel books. The food was exceptional at the restaurant and reasonably priced. It was very nice having all the water activities, such as fishing and diving and snorkeling right on the resort pier. The pool was very beautiful and the setting superior with all the wonderful palm trees and beach. The sunflower room was exceptional. Would highly recommend this resort to anybody looking to have a relaxing and enjoyable experience.

The food was fantastic and I had an incredible massage in the spa palapa. The service from all the staff was 5-star.

We would like to thank all the staff at the Portofino Resort for giving us such a lovely vacation. We were so surprised to receive such warm attention, from the birthday cake made from towels on our bed when we arrived to the complimentary birthday cake we received at dinner. We will always remember how kind and friendly the people at Portofino Resort and Belize are.

This was a very quiet resort not a full one either it was exactly what my friend and I were looking for the staff was extremely Friendly and accommodating they even provided my friend with a charger for her phone when hers stop Working. I would recommend this place to anyone just needing a quiet calm freeway
