Motel 8 Laramie

Great value. Large clean room. Only problem was no stopper in bath tub. Wife wanted to take hot bath after 14 hour drive

First, I use value priced motels a lot & always write reviews. Laramie is an expensive town as reflected in the prices of the more modern motels. This location is an older motel that was extensively remodeled. From the outside appearance, the street & immediate surrounding property might appear rough. Don't be fooled. The office is bright, the staff are locals with a friendly disposition & a smile. Room door locks are still keys, rooms are large with only necessary furniture, mini fridge, microwave, large TV with a single remote control that even I could understand. Plumbing & fixtures are new with nice work on all the bathroom tile caulking, paint & floor tile. Lights everywhere, on the ceiling, walls & table. Heat is a very long floor board unit extending one entire wall with a modern thermostat unit in easy reach on the bedroom wall. AC unit is under the single large window. That window has a newer blackout curtain. The room smells clean, not over scented & the floor is warm with new smooth weave carpeting. Furniture is older with dings as is the inside appearance of the door, but everything is clean, as in they move the furniture to vacuum clean. I travel frequently by driving on I-80 from IL to Utah. This location is close to the interstate but accessible to all the downtown eateries & the university campus area. No breakfast offered, but there is coffee in the office & a coffee maker in the rooms. Oh, the shower & bed are great too. So, value, clean, friendly, simple, with outside parking in front of your room. I've already booked my return trip next week.

Nothing, except the high winds this region endures during winter months.

I did like the closeness of the hotel to the wyotech school.

The staff’s attitude, to noisy, no handicap parking, and they don’t inform the clients of things.
