Esperas Santorini

I arranged my entire trip around being able to stay at this property. I also saved it for the end of my vacation. I was surprised to find my room had used dirty dishes and it made me wonder what else was not really cleaned. I did report this to the front desk and after having the restaurant bring clean coffee cups I mentioned that the maid would not need to come by. The next morning bright and early I could see her coming to my room while I was eating breakfast. She was annoyed that I had the do not disturb on my door. She came back again while I was resting in bed so I told the front desk again that my room did not need to be serviced. Then as I am standing in the shower, she comes back a third time. Up until this, I had a good level of communication with the front desk, so not sure for the new disconnect. I also got very sick after the first night and I suspected it was from the air conditioner. I overhead a few other guests at breakfast mention the same thing. I ended up having to turn off the air while in the room and to sleep with the windows wide open which left me a little concerned. Only upsetting for spending so much money to stay there. That being said, the breakfast and the staff there were great. The views were incredible. They have staff that will help with baggage and they will arrange shuttle service for a fee.

The property and its common areas are beautiful and pristine and meet all of your Santorini dreams. But then our room was incredibly sparse. There was an elevated bed wedged back into the cave and a ladder back style chair at a table. Nowhere comfortable to sit when a brief respite from the hot sun is needed. You could not even sit on the bed without crawling up onto it. We needed this a few times and the lack of this kind of soured us on the place. That said, overall the staff is wonderful. They helped with the bags which was a god send due to the large amount of steps mentioned in other reviews. Restaurant staff was also delightful.

Very nice view! Love the cave style hotel. Free breakfast included by the pool and water view.

What a beautiful place!! The views are indescribable, the staff absolutely wonderful and such quaint rooms. Each room has a view of the caldera sunset. The breakfast was delicious and you could either eat on the terrace of your room or on the terrace of the restroom. Either spot was amazing! There are ALOT of stairs but if you go to Santorini stairs are expected. The hotel had porters that carried all of our luggage! We were quite spoiled!

If you going to stay in Oia may as well do it in style - we had our own patio and plucge pool and breakfast served on our own patio (euro20 extra) with the incredible Oia sunsets it was a once in a lifetime type experience

Best hotel in Santorini. We saw the sunset across most of the island on our stay and this was the best position. While everyone crowds on boat trips, Oia castle, Akrotiri lighthouse, etc you can relax here and see the best sunset from Esperas. It is easy to find (between the two windmills there is a path down some steps at the bottom turn left and follow until you reach gate saying Ombra). Absolute privacy, unlike many premium Oia and Fira hotels where you have people constantly walking past you. Super convenient for Oia and Ammoudi Bay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Pool was amazing (though shuts at 7pm). Room booked was Premium Studio with Sunset View, 104 was small but comfortable cave house (aircon was superb). Atmosphere was generally quiet and chilled. Food was luxurious and expensive, but small portions, would recommend the lamb. Breakfast was amazing every morning, I would recommend go large on the first day with a mix of items and then mix it up over your stay. Parking near there is very hard, especially at sunset time, use What3Words to get to nearest car park (///imaged.ghostly.elapses). Porters will collect you and your bags showing you the way to the hotel from here. Advise using buses it is really cheap and convenient. Swim in Ammoudi Bay or take a trip to Perissa for the best beaches. The best hotel in the whole of Santorini an absolute number one location!

A beautiful property with amazing views of the sunset! The staff and service are top notch! Highly recommend. The steep steps are not for everyone though so be aware of that but if you want a quiet beautiful property in Oia this is the spot!

Breathtaking views!!!! Amazing Food

Esperas is a wonderful property. The staff was great, the views were stunning. We really enjoyed our time here & would go back in a heartbeat. Highly recommend.
