Sugar Sands Beachfront Hotel, a By The Sea Resort

We always love staying at sugar sands and the location is perfect!

Unfortunately we did not have a great experience this time. We arrived Sunday and got checked in around 2pm. We came back from the beach, showered and went to dinner. Upon arriving back from dinner noticed our floor was flooded from the bathroom all the way into the bedroom of the split wall. We go down to the service desk and the lady says maintenance isn’t here but she will let them know in the morning and gave us three towels to clean this up. We soak up the water as best we can. By 6 am the following morning the water is even worse. I go back down to the front desk and a different lady says maintenance isn’t in this early but she will let them know. This lady gave me four towels this time. We waited around in the room until around 1:00 PM and still hadn’t heard or saw anybody. Finally, I go back to the front desk again. This time the lady calls maintenance immediately and they’re finally helping solve this problem. It leaked a little more after this but eventually stopped. They were nice enough to follow back up and make sure the problem was fixed after 1.5 days of flooding in our room. For a three day trip 1.5 of the day was spent tending to a soaking wet floor with water running everywhere. Upon checkout I spoke to the front desk lady and asked if there was any type of accommodation that could be made considering the circumstances. She responded that it was up to management but confirmed my email and said someone would contact me. I’ve sent two follow up texts to the number they had communicated to me with but I haven’t heard a single thing back. It’s extremely upsetting because I paid $975 for three nights at Sugar Sands but had to spend one night and the next day dealing with the bathroom flooding into the hallway and bedroom.

Hotel is far enough from all the hustle and bustle and all other hotels so beach isn't Soo crowded. Waited till last minute to book and got a really good price. Room is a good size for what you pay. Pillows are very soft.

Wife saw a couple roaches in the room🤮. The beds are kinda uncomfortable, little too stiff and firm for me. No ice trays in fridge, no clock. Water pressure in shower is barely there. Parking is terrible, can barely get around without hitting another car unless you park across the street or in front of the West Tower.

Beautiful location. Wonderful staff. It would be nice if they had discounts for guests who continue to come back every year.

More outdoor furniture for decking and pool area. The area was nice.Just wish they had more chairs. . It would also be nice if there was a table in the room , so you had a place to actually eat other than the bar area. . We love coming here.Those are just a couple of things that would make it even nicer.

The location was perfect. The beach just steps away, it was beautiful. The area was safe and away from the crowds. Loved it. Rooms were clean and beds were comfy.

The hotel was a bit run down. Lots of wear and tear interior and exterior. Needs some TLC. But absolutely would stay here again.

Room was decent, view of the beach was wonderful. New linens were brought day 2 of stay, did not have to request them. Air conditioning worked well. Full refrigerator available. Quiet location on the beach (pretty far from main Downtown PCB)

A bit run down, renovation needed. Bed was not comfortable at all, looks like there was a dead roach or 2 killed on the wall, thankfully we did not see any during our stay. Mold/mildew in the bathroom ceiling tile. Could be a bit cleaner. Chairs on balcony were cracked so we could not sit in them.
