"Not happy"

Hampton Inn has been my go-to brand for years, probably decades now. I generally choose them where I can because most of them have a king size bed that's firm enough for my 245 pounds 6 foot three butt. So I know I'm going to get decent sleep and be ready to get out of bed in the morning and go to work. Some of them are slacking some now. That's the case here. The bed appears workable. It's other stuff. For example I always include a note with my reservation that says I'm allergic to down and please remove all the down pillows and blankets from my room. About six out of 10 times they get that right. It's almost like they have this box on their app that says 'notes to hotel but they don't actually read that stuff. So I get to my room after a mean day of two late flights to get here and I always check the pillows as a precaution. I discover half of them are down. Now I have that stuff all over my hand and it's itching. Call the front desk to tell them I need foam pillows immediately. They call me back and say they don't have any. What? This room also smells heavily of whatever they use as a germicide. The air-conditioning unit's fan and the bathroom fan are both noisy. I guess they don't know that they actually make both of those products to be pretty silent if you're willing to spend a little bit more money. And I have two bath towels. So now I gotta go to the front desk and beg for more because two bath towels doesn't cut it. Did I mention my size above.?

We arrived after a treacherous, rainy, nighttime drive on I-40. I was barely out of the passenger side when Deon was at the front door asking if I needed help. I said we were wondering about getting suitcases in street side, since it didn’t appear the parking was at the entrance. He explained that unloading there was best, then moving the car to the parking garage. He got us our keycards, required for parking garage and directed me to the elevators. He was welcoming, professional, and showed a heart for hospitality. My husband parked the car in the garage, Deon greeted him at the side door, which my husband said he would not have easily found in the dark rain, without Deon. My husband then stared at Deon until Deon asked if he needed something. My husband said “the room number.” I had texted him the room unit he hadn’t noticed. I have no problem with Deon giving my husband the number, as he had just seen us unload luggage together. When my husband entered the room he said “Deon’s great! He made almost all my stress disappear.” This Hampton is remodeling, we didn’t see or hear any construction during our 9 PM to 9 AM stay. The breakfast selection was limited. I had a piece of toast with peanut butter which is my Hampton fall back. I have extensive food allergies. We overheard the Manager talking to the Breakfast Staff Woman about a food delivery needing to occur.
