Absolutely Appalling Experience – Avoid at All Costs I had prepaid for my room in full and arrived at the hotel at 6pm after travelling all day from the UK. Exhausted and simply wanting to check in, I was told they needed to take a $100 card authorisation for potential damage. Unfortunately, my card was temporarily blocked because I hadn’t informed my bank I was travelling. These things happen — and I immediately tried to resolve it. I offered: • A different card • Cash for the deposit • Any reasonable alternative All were refused. Instead of showing even the slightest bit of understanding or flexibility after a full day of international travel, reception’s only “solution” was to cancel my room and suggest I find somewhere else to stay. Let that sink in — a paying guest, who had already paid in full, was told to go and find another hotel in the evening because of a temporary banking issue on a damage deposit. To make matters worse, since leaving, they have somehow managed to charge my card £108 — despite previously saying it could not be authorised. I have sent multiple emails which are being completely ignored, and I am now having to chase money that should never have been taken in the first place. The lack of customer service, empathy and basic professionalism was shocking. After a 10+ hour journey, the last thing anyone needs is to be treated like an inconvenience. I would strongly advise anyone travelling internationally to avoid this hotel. There are plenty of other options in the area that will treat paying guests with basic decency. Avoid at all costs.
