"Tyteana was fantastic!"

I visited twice ...as the hotel was transforming from W Atlanta Midtown to its present state, JW Marriott! Tyteana Gutumore (sp?) at front desk remembered me both times. She was in training the first time I was there. But Emanuel Phillips who was there as the W was ending was no longer there when I did my second visit. He informed that big things were coming in the way of a transfer so good for him! Great stay both times!

"Excellent Service Through a Time of Transition"

I went into this experience knowing there might be a few challenges due to the recent change in management, and while there were a handful of minor bumps along the way, they did not detract from my overall stay. The staff was wonderful, the dining experience was excellent, and I felt genuinely welcomed throughout the property. The lobby bar and restaurant were beautifully maintained, offered top-notch service, and created a great atmosphere. The Director of Food & Beverage was especially attentive and clearly invested in ensuring guests had a positive experience. Overall, despite a few minor issues, the hospitality and service made for an enjoyable and memorable stay.

"Worst stay of my life"

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Upon arrival, we were unsure we were in the right place because there was no one outside. The hotel was under construction, which I was not made aware of at booking. The elevators were down and no one told us. We waited on the 11th floor for an elevator for about 10 minutes when finally a hotel guest let us know to take the freight elevators. The main restaurant was closed so we paid for expensive food in what appeared to be a conference room. I woke up at 2:30am from what sounded like explosions. When I called the front desk they said it was people showing off their engines. These loud explosions went on for over an hour. Upon check out, I mentioned not being able to sleep and was told, that it was because of a public parking lot and there was nothing they can do about it. She brought over a manager who didn’t speak to me, but handed me a receipt with a $100 credit. The room cost me $440 for the night so the credit was insulting. After leaving, I noticed the valet left a long black pen mark on the leather interior of my door. I would not stay at the W in Downtown Atlanta again if someone paid me.

"EVERYONE, ASK FOR YOUR REFUND!!"

EVERYONE, ASK FOR YOUR REFUND!! We booked the w hotel for spring break because of their pool, and was told on the spot that they closed it, without any prior communication about this. The manager refused to book us at a different Marriott hotel or even give us breakfast vouchers. With a surly attitude , the manager just gave us a final offer of $100 refund in total, take it or leave it. Later when we talk to other guests at the hotel, they were equally upset about the false advertising but did not even get a refund simply because they did not ask for it. So don't let Marriott (a 30 billion dollar worth hotel chain) sweep it under the rug and get away with it. Call them for a refund, if you recently stayed there and experienced the same issue; ask them to lower the price, if you are planning to book here; share your experience and their response here and on google map if you have negotiated with them. Organize = power.

"Construction creates a terrible experience."

They are doing construction but didn't bother telling me. The pipes were sending up gross dirt into the sink. The hotel restaurant and bar is more like a coffee shop. And the Internet went out.

It was right in the middle of everything we were set to do when we got there. The staff was amazing at letting a 3rd party come set the room up for my gf as a surprise. They were super sweet and friendly.

The only downside was they were doing renovations so we didn’t get to use the wet bar lol 😂
