I loved the way the place looked, it was so unique and different.

The folks at Elwood showed true Southern hospitality: polite, hardworking, and respectful from the minute we walked in. No nonsense, just good old-fashioned service that made us feel welcome like we belonged. Room was clean, bed comfortable, everything in order and cozy enough to rest well after a full day. Solid place all around, no complaints. If you’re in Lexington, whether for the track, bourbon, or just passing through, this is the spot. We’ll be back. Strongly recommend.

The outside of the property was beautiful and the room that I booked was very large and included 2 rooms, a living space, bathroom and small kitchen area. This WOULD have been a good stay if we did not go to pull down the bedsheets to find BLOOD, called the front desk for them to come, see it on the bed and ACKNOWLEDGE it to us and tell us that the night manager would take care of us in the morning. I wasn’t expecting a full refund and had no expectations. But not even an I’m sorry. All I got was this night staff saying that she got the sheets down to laundry and inspected them to find no blood and only a rip in the sheets (which we didn’t even see). She was in our room WITH another employee and saw it. They both acknowledged it and were quick to make a really crappy bed only because they said they knew we had a baby with us.

The customer service was horrible. We have even tried to reach out since and was unable to speak with a manager. We spoke with someone who was not understanding the situation and took our number with no call back. Just to reiterate, we got there and set up. Our baby had surgery early the next day. That’s the ONLY reason we were in town. I booked one of the biggest and most family friendly rooms because I was bringing a baby and needed his own room for his crib (which I brought myself). We set up. Then, my husband and baby go to lay on the bed and relax and there’s blood…. On the sheets and comforter. We immediately call the front desk. They did offer to move us rooms but mind you, we had a baby and I had already set up his crib. He was in his pajamas. His toys were out. He was having dinner and we already had all his stuff set out and orderly. She said she was going to talk to the manager. She calls us back and says they are coming to bring new sheets and I asked about a new comforter and pillow cases since there was blood on the comforter and we just preferred all new bedding, as anyone would. They come up, they SLOPPILY change the bed and take the sheets. Mind you, my husband had to help but they did not bring gloves or anything for anyone touching these sheets. I’m pretty sure that is workplace hazard to not wear gloves. My husband showed BOTH WOMEN the spots and they acknowledged and said they knew we had a baby and wanted to get them all changed for us. So only because we had a baby? Regardless, she said she was going off shift and she briefed the person coming on and he would make sure this was made up to us when we checked out. Again, I had no expectations but I went to check out and he proceeded to tell me that she brought the sheets downstairs to examine and couldn’t find any spots of red or blood on the linens and only a rip. What in the world? She literally saw it and acknowledged it in our presence with a coworker while they were still on the bed.
