Conference Aston Hotel - Birmingham City

Curtains were left open on a weekend everyone knew was going to be hot. On arrival my room was hotter than outside. Thankfully was a fan but not effective like air con. Restaurant closed which I wasn’t informed about until I had arrived. Found the staff didn’t want to relate authentically about these two issues. Otherwise everything was very nice

Room was small, no Aircon on one of the hottest days of the year. Tiny shower.

Clean but the room was far too hot with no air con and windows limited opening. Staff lovely and great location. Wasn’t able to check in early but overall okay stay. 5/10

The hotel is beautiful, room was lovely, clean and comfortable the only thing was the room was very hot, could do with air con. Staff were so professional and helpful and the breakfast was yummy! I’d definitely stay again!

The check in process was smooth with no issues. Unfortunately the bar was not open when we arrived which meant we couldn't visit the on site bar as it opened after we were leaving for a concert. The lifts take a long time. The room appears fine on first glance but you can very quickly see that the carpet hasn't been hoovered. There are no hygiene covers underneath glasses and mugs which are left rim down on the surface of shelves. The water pressure of the shower and the tap is absolutely awful. It takes about 15 minutes just to have a quick wash because the water is just trickling out of the shower head. The bed is hands down the worst part about the room. It is unbelievably uncomfortable and the pillows are no better. Genuinely one of the worst beds I have slept on. There's no bottled water in the room so no provision of cold refreshments. There are tea/coffee making facilities but you would have to use the bathroom tap to fill the kettle up, something I don't personally like doing. We are on the 5th floor and it is incredibly noisy outside with clocks of birds screaching constantly. I appreciate this isn't the hotels fault and can't be helped but something to bear in mind if you're booked into a higher floor room.

Good location. The property and surrounding area is wonderful

Conference Aston is a solid choice, especially if you're looking for convenience and a pleasant stay. Having stayed there twice, it's clear that the hotel offers a consistent experience that guests appreciate

Reasonably priced but convenient for my stay

Switched rooms as couldnt get WiFi working at first and had to get some work done but was the hotel's decision and zero fuss. Great room and food, would have stayed longer under different circumstances. And the water options by reception are great!
