The staff were all excellent, friendly, helpful and a real pleasure to deal with. The owners of the hotel should be extremely proud of their staff, they turn a fairly normal hotel into somewhere memorable. The breakfast, though basic, was excellent. The bed was huge and comfortable. The location was walking distance to the Caen memorial museum (which gives a good overall view of the war, but isn’t particularly Caen centric) and well connected to the road network for exploration of the area.

There are loads of place where the hotel needs a little TLC, in our room the grout on the bathroom floor was missing in places and the laminate on the floor of the bedroom was well past its best. In the communal areas there were many places where flooring needed replacing or decoration touched up. It’s a shame because it made what was otherwise a very good hotel feel tatty.

J'ai apprécié la proximité immédiate du mémorial de Caen que j'étais venu voir. Mais également le calme, le parking, le confort de la literie, la douche avec de la pression. Je n'ai pas profité du restaurant mais c'est très appréciable qu'il y en ai un. Mention spéciale pour l'accueil, la disponibilité et les bons conseils de Nicolas,

Although they had restrictions in their kitchen we were offered very tasty and ample choices. We don't normally eat breakfast and had coffee and very fresh croissants as they looked and tasted so nice. We were offered a full breakfast with more variety. We had exactly what we wanted. The staff were kind and helpful; cheerful too, especially nice was the singing voice of one of the morning staff. ;) The position of the hotel also was ideal as took us easily onto our next road to Amiens.
