The property was very spacious and clean. The beachfront view was exquisite and the Condo was more beautiful than the pictures i viewed online. The location is great with plenty on local restaurants to dine from.

I really enjoyed my stay. Great location, building and Condo. I believe that the non stick pans need to be replaced and also the coffee pot that look fine but when you make coffee it slowly leak and can be dangerous. Other than that would recommend the place and would come back.

"Great vacation!"

The condos are spacious and comfortable. Right on the beach is the way to go. There needs to be more truck parking for full size pickups. Otherwise great place and will totally reconsider and recommend this property.

"DON'T GO! Bahama Sands: Dirty and Moldy!"

2.0

We used Vacasa to book our unit. We stayed in 1003 . Upon entering the unit, there was a strong chemical smell (like cleaner). After a few minutes of bringing in our luggage, that smell went away leaving the musty, moldy smell that the chemicals were covering up. The bedrooms smelled terribly of mold and having someone in our party allergic to mold - this was a big problem. We contacted Vacasa about this and received sympathetic text replies but nothing was done. We were asked to provide pictures - but it is hard to show a bad smell, but we found multiple a/c vents that had very visible mold growing. We sent pictures of that, but we still had no one help us. Also, the floors were extremely dirty. As soon as we entered and removed our shoes, we found that our feet were black with dirt and the floors and carpet felt damp and sticky. We ended up having to wear socks to keep our feet clean. Pictures included show some of the vents and wipes used to clean dirty feet. We were not happy with the condition of this unit. There was never any follow up or inquiry from Vacasa nor any assistance offered to help rectify the situation. It was not a pleasant experience. The unit was dirty in general and is in need of a major deep cleaning. I would NOT stay here again!

"Penthouse 07 Unit was fine. Kitchen was not adequately furnished."

6.0

I am sure that every unit is different but this is what we experiences in PH07, Bahama Sands, North Myrtle Beach. The unit has obvious wear and tear as you would expect of a rental on the beach. The unit had 3 double beds, a king bed and possibly a hide-a-bed. It was a nice size and the air conditioning worked well. All rooms had ceiling fans. There is a washer and dryer in the unit. Three bathrooms. All satisfactory for a beach vacation. The usual musty smell from the beach. The balcony was large, accommodating 8 chairs. The unit came with 4 plastic chairs and 2 small plastic endtables. The bedding was adequate and there were plenty of towels. The unit was quiet though we smelled cigarettes and weed daily when we were on the balcony. Strict no smoking policy that is in no way enforced. The main complain I have is that for several thousand dollars weekly, the unit was stocked the cheapest of any condo I have ever been in. The cabinets were 90% empty. There is an oven, but no oven mitt so bring your own or use the bath towels. There are no scissors or even a bottle opener so bring those too. There were plates and bowls and coffee cups. About 8 settings of silverware and 3-4 pots. There were a few basic kitchen utensils so if you are creative, you will be ok. There is a toaster and a basic coffee pot. Oh yes, there was salt and pepper. We were supplied with one trash bag to last a week, one pod for dishes and one pod for laundry. We had to buy scissors, a can opener, garbage bags, laundry and dishwashing detergent and extra toilet paper. I used towels to get baked goods out of the oven. Oh, we were given 1/2 of a sponge (literally cut in two) for the kitchen. Be careful with the toilet paper supply too. For $15 at a garage sale, this kitchen could have been adequately furnished. As we found it, you literally need to bring your own kitchen supplies from home to function here. The remote in the living room didn't have batteries so bring those too! Having a properly supplied kitchen would have made our stay much more enjoyable. Like I said, the condo was what I expected, not pristine (they all have some age on them) and beach living is tough on condos but the lack of amenities was a major drawback for us. In a week we had to hit Walmart three times to get what we would have expected to be provided. Cheap.

"Don’t rent through Vacasa."

4.0

Currently here, have 2 units on the 12th floor. The walls of the indoor pool were removed 2 days into our stay. Now there is no indoor pool and it’s March. It’s very cold. Tried contacting Vacasa, they stopped replying and said they don’t have control over what the building does. We paid Vacasa a premium in order to have an indoor pool. Very disappointed, they made no attempt to figure out what was going on. Living room furniture in both units very dirty. Only the most basic kitchen things provided. Great views from the balcony. I do not recommending renting through Vacasa. Will edit review if situation is rectified.

"Check-in is a major disaster."

2.0

I don’t usually write reviews but I felt that this place deserves one. Stay away! We were told that check in is from 3-5pm. We were checked in shortly after 3. It is now 6:40pm and our room is still not clean. We have called 3 times. The 1st time, Kayla stated that they have until 7:30 to finish any “special cleaning.” And, yes, according to Kayla, them (after the 3rd call, we now know it’s a party of 2 housekeepers) being behind is considered “special.” The 2nd call, a young man whose name I can’t recall, stated that we were next to be cleaned. Great we thought. Nope- an hour later we call again and this young woman calls housekeeping and assured us she will be there in 4 minutes and it may take her 30 minutes to clean. Really? 30 minutes? We are in a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo, and they can clean this in 30 minutes? I expect our next call to be about a filthy room. Stay tuned. Pics to come! PS- don’t even think you’re gonna get a luggage cart. They literally have store buggy’s and you can’t find those either!

"Needs better cleaning and renovations"

6.0

At first sight this condo Bahama Sands 902 didn’t look too bad but it really needs some renovating. Vacasa texted me shortly after arrival and asked me to rate the level of cleanliness. At that time I gave it a 3.5-4. Their reply was they’re glad the cleanliness held up to my expectations. I replied back because it did not meet my expectations. They asked me to send pictures of the areas I had problems with and asked if I want them to send someone to reclean it. I declined as we didn’t want the cleaning to interfere with our vacation plans. We just decided to wipe things down ourselves. I told them we only received two washcloths for the entire condo and not that many bath towels. I asked if they could just bring some to us. Their response was they only provide fresh linens and 1 bath towel, hand towel and wash cloth per person. I repeated that we didn’t get all that. They apologized and said they’d alert their local cleaning staff. We never did receive the correct number of towels and washcloths. Other problems we found were socks left outside the front door, sock left in the master bedroom, water bottle on floor by couch, crumbs left on toaster, hair ties on desk in bedroom, cigarette butts on balcony (even though large signs posted no smoking, vaping, marijuana, etc), stains on bedding. The washing machine was so dirty. I used a Clorox wipe and the dirt came right off which proves housekeeping just didn’t clean it. I went to use the dryer and checked the lint filter first. There was so much lint packed into it like it’s never been cleaned out before. That was pretty disgusting. The condo had a bad odor. There was an empty air freshener plug in the wall by the door which makes me think they must be aware of the smell. We went to Bath & Body Works and bought three wallflowers to make it smell better. The furniture needs to be replaced especially living room. The arm rest of the chair is ripped and the couches are worn down and don’t look good. I ended up sitting at the dining room table most of the time. The master bath tub is outdated and could use some caulking. It does have a lot of potential. The main issues come lack of cleaning and furniture and carpet needing to be replaced. The unit itself is great with each bedroom having a balcony plus there are three windows in the living room/dining room area. It really brightened the place up. If staying at Bahama Sands again I would definitely chose a corner unit again. One other thing to mention, our first and last nights there were sirens that went off in the building and announcements in the stairwells saying do not use the elevators. Fire trucks came. The first time I call the operator to find out what was going on and if we needed to evacuate. This must have been a central answering service because the man asked what hotel I was at. He wasn’t aware of anything so he’d have to make some phone calls. I never did hear back from anyone. The sirens went off about 10-15 min after the fireman arrived. This happened at 10:30 pm the first night and 4:30 am the last night. Not sure if this is a common occurrence. Sent from my iPhone

"Great Condo in North Myrtle Beach"

10.0

Bahama Sands was a great value Condo place for our Family Vacation. I will say the building and our condo was showing some age. It definitely could use a refresh. But I think the price of the condo compared to others was great value. Everything worked and was clean. The parking garage was tight but manageable. We didn't have an issue navigating or parking our Honda Pilot. We were always able to find spaces. The luggage and shopping carts were all labeled for which floors they belonged on and we had no issue obtaining them for move in and out. The staff on site was great. They were very friendly and kept the pools and lobby clean. Even passed out popsicles most afternoons to guests. We stayed in a 3 bedroom condo on the 9th floor. We rented through Condo World and had a great experience with them. The room seemed clean and everything in there worked. It was a little tight on space compared to other 3 bedrooms we have stayed in, but nothing too cramped. The balcony and view were great. Good space to sit and enjoy the view or eat a meal out there. I've read other reviews here about noise and smoke. We only experienced that our first night in the condo with smelling weed coming from a nearby balcony and what seemed to be a bachelorette party going on another one. Beyond that, there was not a lot of noise between condos. The pools were nice too. They had a sort of indoor pool (kind of like a solarium) on the 5th floor as well as a large pool, lazy river, baby pool and two jacuzzis on the main level. The majority of which is under the parking garage, so the pools were a little cold even in August since they are almost always in shade. My baby was shivering in the baby pool which is under shade 100%. But he loved being in his floaty in the lazy river. There seemed to be an issue with one jacuzzi after the first day. The staff drained the hot tub, fixed and had it back up within a few days. Access to the beach was great here. They had access from the pools with outdoor showers. Then you could access the beach from either side of the condo if you had a wagon/cart to push. There were also clean off stations in the front of the lobby in parking garage if you did that. Very convenient The beach was nice too. We aren't surrounded by a lot of high rises in this area. There is one right next door to us that was similar size. So if walking out to the beach, if you stayed to the left, it was less crowded. We also had a lifeguard stationed there. Due to short staff not all lifeguard chairs was staffed, but luckily ours was. This location is also great. There was a short walk down the beach to do water sports (parasailing, banana boats, jet skiing). You could even walk to 17 and go to a few restaurants right there if you didn't want to drive some place. Short distance to shops/bars located on ocean drive too. We are further south in North Myrtle and close to Barefoot Landing. My family usually stays at a different place every year just to experience everywhere, but I would easily book this place again if needed to choose a repeat.
