Beautiful hotel, staff were exceptional & couldn’t have asked for a better stay!

The staff were very friendly and efficient and lovely to talk to. Loved the building's history and cosiness of the bar. We liked the fact that when we arrived, the lamps were on in the room and there was music playing on the radio, which made it feel very welcoming. Great car park.

We discovered a bit late (ie having unpacked and got undressed to shower) that there was no hot water from the taps or shower, which led to us being moved into another room. In the new room the sink plug which didn't sit correctly, so water wouldn't stay in the sink. It was positioned in an area of the building where there was a frequent banging of a door beneath us - we think it was a door into the kitchen with people constantly going in and out. The noise went on till quite late. Didn't want to move again, so told the staff next morning, who said the door already had a soft close on it, and not sure what could be done.

Breakfast was great and cooked to order. Service from staff was excellent

Perfect for a short stay, comfortable, welcoming, good value, great food. Will definitely stay on my list!
