Landguard Lodge

Received a warm welcome upon arrival from the lodge's very helpful host. I needed a taxi for the morning and he recommended a cab company that turned out to be excellent. My room and its en-suite bathroom were remarkably clean. The only thing that wasn't pristine was the kettle, but I happily used it. Comfy bed that felt fresh. Firm mattress, I usually prefer soft but I liked it. The whole place had a very home-like atmosphere. The room felt cosy and was genuinely nice to be in, particularly in the evening and at night. I appreciated the decent WiFi, along with the vast number of power sockets available to use in the room, and also that all appliances had been recently PAT tested. Walls were a little thin, heard conversations happening downstairs but couldn't exactly hear what was being said, and this wasn't particularly disturbing - just felt like being in a house. The location was great for Southampton Central train station, and the street was quiet on a Saturday night. Very good value for money, particularly for a weekend in Southampton. Overall, comfy and clean accommodation at a very reasonable price. Landguard Lodge clearly has a caring and careful owner.

Convenient location , welcoming , clean , comfortable

The guest house was very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. Position of accommodation for what we needed was perfect. Will recommend and use again.

I booked for one night in a single room, it was locsted in the middle of property. The bed a very comfortable and the en-suite was spacious. The property is locsted a 15 min walk into the centre. It is also quiet which is nice for a city location. My only grip is the outdated curtains and bed sheet but other than that i would definitely stay again.

Tidy, but clean, quiet, comfortable, heat working very good. John is super nice. Parking is good and easy.

For an overnight stay, this was perfect. Close to the railway station, very clean and comfortable, and a great host. Could not fault.

Extremely friendly and helpful manager, good breakfast, comfortable bed, quiet, cheap price. No lounge, so no comfortable chair anywhere.

It was close to the port of Southampton. And walking distance to the main aerea
