Looks lovely from the outside

This property was very outdated and in need of tlc, such a shame as the building looks lovely from the outside. The shower cubicle was tiny and whilst it was clean the shower head would not stay up high enough. We had a ladybird on our bed before we went to sleep which we kind of thought was just one of those things. My partner took the lady bird outside with him when he went to get a bag from the car. In the morning our window was completely streamed up after the shower so we opened it. To our disgrace about 100 lady birds came falling into our room and there were hundreds living in the window frame. Not a member of staff was to be found in the morning. We tried to ring the number on reception no answer.

Nice bedroom, rest of the building a little run down

Keypad entry system did not work. Had to ring emergency number to get in at 11.00 pm. No breakfast, 8.00am and no staff, kitchen empty.

Location and surrounding grounds Dog friendly

It looks run down. Loads of potential for this property to be really amazing but it’s very tired. We were the only guests (it seemed) and arrived fairly late to a staff member who couldn’t access the system. No breakfast options or even offer of any drinks or anything at the hotel (despite a very nice looking coffee machine behind the bar). Woke up in the morning to NOBODY around. No staff anywhere to be seen. Thankfully another couple were there with us as after we walked the dog, we realised the door locked behind us and we were unable to get back in. We rang the doorbell and the ring to no answer. Had to ask the other couple to get out of bed to let us in - could have been a disaster.

Set in lovely grounds, no traffic noise

Where do I start. The property is in need of refurbishment. Whilst there has been an effort to decorate the rooms nicely, it is attention to detail that is lacking. Wallpaper peeling in places in the bathroom and stains on the carpet. There is a lack of soundproofing between the rooms and I could have joined in with the blokes telephone conversation next door! It took ages for the shower to warm up and the remote for the TV didn’t work and the TV kept going into shutdown mode!

The Location was the only good Part of the stay

Nothing went well no one on reception on arrival and no one when we checked out. The Toilet see was Loose. The Remote for The TV had no battery Cover In Both Rooms Bin in Room Not Empted No Breakfast The Room Door needs Attention as it Didn't Close with out you Slam

Rude staff. Very dirty bedroom, bathroom even worse. Cold. Noisy. Only 1 towel for 2 people.

Affordable Friendly receptionist Quiet

Web site advertised breakfast and meals for an additional cost. We would've happily paid but there was no food available. Staff know that web site advertises food and apologised although they have not offered food since COVID. No public rooms, bar, or soft drinks/coffee, tea (tea bags, coffee sachets and 4 milk sachets in bedroom - not enough milk and no biscuits). Damp clearly visible in the en suite, particularly the ceiling above the shower. Ceiling fan was clogged with dust. Carpeting throughout was worn and shabby. Towels were clean but worn. Only one large towel.
