Hotel Excelsior

The hotel is great, the staff so friendly and helpful!! I recommend the hotel with no doubt.

The hotel was in a great location. The facilities were good. Breakfast was great, especially for Italy that doesn't really do breakfast. Their carrot cake and bread were exceptional and Marco the breakfast waiter were a joy to be served by every morning. The reception team deserves a speciel applause especially Francesca. She called us while we where on our way to the hotel, as we where on a late flight, and said she would wait for us to arrive, as she was about to leave at 11pm. She was so lovely and spent time telling us all about what to see and how to get around and what restaurants to go. Next morning when we came down, she had found more restaurants for us to go and visit. She was always at hand during our stay with a big smile and by the time we left we felt we had made a friend. Matilda and another receptionist with gold glasses where also exceptionally helpful. We and my husbands sister and partner were all offered an upgrade and later check out at no extra charge. Which was SO nice. We travel an awful lot all over the world and I can honestly say, we have never stayed at any hotel before, where we have felt so welcome and looked after, even by the room cleaners, that came into the rooms twice a day. We got a genuine feeling that the staff actually liked their jobs and working there and that they were being treated properly. Everyone seemed happy and relaxed, just the way it should be.
