Hilton Alexandria Corniche Hotel

The view from second room was lovely. Some service staff was excellent. While the breakfast buffet was great, the service staff at the buffet had a hard time keeping everyone in turn and would just service anybody who cut in and was speaking to them even if they interrupted someone already waiting to be serviced, which was frustrating to say the least.

There is a nightclub that is apparently linked to the hotel that opens from 1am to 5am and the bass is heard all throughout one side of the hotel and would wake us up. Also did not help that our first room was not appropriate as it overlooked balconies and the a.c did not work properly, and the telephones in the rooms did not work, not to mention the curtains did not shut all the way. When they transferred our room, it took a huge argument to speak to a manager to get this done, and then there was an issue of paying to extend our stay which was not recorded accurately on their systems and I was told I would receive a refund and I would need to find another place to stay which is a ridiculous thing to tell a hotel guest. Then once a duty manager finally contacted us he resolved the issue and explained that the reception staff was incorrect. They frequently were. Also they do not accept egyptian cards? Only visa and credit cards. And the ATM on site did not work. This was not an issue with my card but their ATM as I used the same bank's ATM at a separate site and it worked fine.
