Good hotel, can be better though!

Hotel is clean and the staff is very hospitable. The service can be quite slow at times. The room is very business like but lacks warmth. The facilities are excellent with heated pool, sauna, hammam and jacuzzi, all in a very relaxing decor.

great location (up on a hill and within easy taxi-reach of major attractions including the royal castle), clean and comfortable rooms, wonderful breakfast and very helpful staff: i definitely recommended this hotel, i spent 5 nights there, but it's not cheap!

Hotel is located in centre of Tana with all ministries in reach. Ideal for visiting the city and doing business.

Had a very nice stay in the Hotel du Louvre. Excellent location right in the middle of things, lush spa area, and a sense of design flair that's uncommon in a hotel this inexpensive. Will definitely stay anytime I'm in Tana!

Great hotel which is central to everything. Restaurant service was great. Tastefully decorated, great service and great price. Get the upgrade room for a fabulous view of the city!

I stayed for 3 nights at this hotel upon returning from travel around Madagascar. I found it to be extremely well run, with very pleasant, helpful employees. As a very limited French speaker it was great being able to communicate in English with most of the staff. My superior room was outstanding (I loved the bathroom), very clean, comfortable and quiet. I know I could not afford the same quality in Perth. As I said, I will be back and will recommend the hotel to others.

Staff are very helpful, they helped booked us a place in Andasibe and organized a hired car for us. The room is what we expected, decent enough - inline with the money spent

On our return to Nairobi after a great week on Ile Sainte Marie, we had to spend a night in Antananarivo and chose Hotel du Louvre on the basis of information about central location and what looked like a charming hotel. Arriving in the late afternoon and leaving next morning did not give us much chance to explore the center of town. We walked down deserted streets, found no local restaurant, but were accosted by beggars in a very aggressive manner. Check-in at the hotel was fine, but we found it cold and with no atmosphere. Our room was modern, with the obligatory chocolate on the bed pillow (at least for one of us). We had to call reception to fix a blocked drain in the bathroom, and a boy came and looked at it for 30 minutes and then decided it needed a technician, which he was not (surprise!). So we were given another room, bathroom functioned, no chocolate on the bed, and dust along the edges of the floor. Looked as if it hadn't been used or cleaned for quite a while. After our futile search for a cozy restaurant in the town center, we went into the hotel restaurant which was anything but cozy. Bright lights, empty tables, squeaking floor boards and food to match. Oh, and the taxi ride airport to hotel takes about one hour (each way).
