Omni Amelia Island Resort & Spa

I can honestly say that I have not had a better stay experience than I had over the last 4 nights. The hotel is fantastic but the staff was first class. I know there is also a Ritz nearby but I doubt the staff could be better. Every experience was perfect. We were here for a work conference. Usually conference meals are miserable. The daily breakfast and lunch was fantastic. Tons of options. Everyone in our group was happy. Bar services at all bars were terrific. Friendly, positive, and welcoming staff. Cleaning staff fully stocked room daily. They went out of their way to be friendly. For my entire trip I do not think I ever once opened a door. There was always someone greeting you. The last day my flight was canceled. I had a decision to make, take a flight home at midnight, rent a car, or stay another night. Went to the front desk to talk through options. They honestly cared. They honored the conference rate and said I deserve some drinks! He gave me 3 drink tickets! Spent my extra day at the pool. Endless cold waters available and towels. Ate dinner at Bobs and. It was fantastic. Get the tuna tartare! It truly was a great stay. Whoever is leading this Omni is doing a fantastic job.

Stay away if you want to get an experience worth your $. This is the most unorganized resort I’ve ever been to. Our key lock didn’t work multiple times, waited outside in the cold for 20+ minutes each time. Whoever is in charge of the lost items department needs to seriously rethink his leadership skills. The attitude of his department is awful, attitude reflects leadership. Then when speaking with him he took no accountability and refused to ship our items to us after it took me 4 days of calling and leaving messages to get a reply about our lost items worth over $500. It’s funny because all it would’ve taken for me to not write this review would’ve been to offer to ship our items to us for less than $50 but that just shows that there’s no accountability and poor leadership at this “nice established resort”. We won’t return lol.

The Omni Amelia Island is a lovely property with stunning views of the pool and ocean. There were some truly positive moments, but unfortunately also some extremely frustrating ones. Let’s start with the challenges. Check-in was an absolute nightmare. The front desk could not find my reservation and couldn’t even confirm whether rooms were available. After waiting in line for about 20 minutes, I was handed a phone number and told to look online. I found my confirmation email, returned to the desk, and was told again that my confirmation number could not be found — even while showing the email. I had to insist that if I have a confirmation number, I have a room. Eventually, after escalating to management, they located my reservation under the conference room block. I was told to wait for a text when my room was ready (which was understandable since I arrived early). When I received the text and returned, I was told again that I did not have a room. Once again, a manager had to step in to resolve it. The room itself was very nice, but there were small oversights — no hand soap at the sink and no conditioner in the shower. There was one bottle of shower gel and two bottles of shampoo. On the positive side, the property is beautiful and the lobby bar was fantastic. The service there was excellent, and Bella in particular was amazing. The team clearly works hard to keep guests happy. The valet staff was also incredible — kind, accommodating, and professional. The biggest issue during my stay occurred on the third morning. I woke up to no water at all. After calling the front desk (the phone rang more than 20 times before someone answered), I was told there was an emergency break and they were working on it. I waited 45 minutes with no update and had to leave for business meetings without being able to shower. When I checked out, the front desk simply said “sorry.” Only then was I told I could have showered at the spa. Why wasn’t that offered proactively? I later learned the entire hotel was not affected — so why weren’t impacted floors notified immediately? Water was not restored for over three hours, and there were no meaningful accommodations offered. The front desk staff needs serious training in communication, problem-solving, and proactive guest service. Outages happen — but how they are handled makes all the difference. Overall, it’s a beautiful property with great views and strong service in certain areas. But good luck checking in.

The resort had wonderful public spaces and the pool area was nice but the room was dated and the bathroom looked very used and dirty. Caulk was misplaced and it was generally just not well presented. We could not get our room cleaned while we were there. At this price point I would expect turn down service but instead we no service. The front desk was not responsive to our requests. In the resurant it was lovely and service was great. It is in the end hit or miss at this resort.

The Omni Amelia Island Resort was by far the friendliest hotel in which we have stayed. The staff is wonderful and always ready to provide whatever is needed. The amenities are fantastic with beautiful pools, a wide beach and several restaurants with delicious food. We didn't get to the spa, but it looked wonderful. Can't wait to try it on our next visit!

It's great to see the investments made at the Amelia Island Omni - the rooms, the sunrise breakfast area, the coffee shop and the spa.  My family and I have been guests at least twice a year for the past 10 years.  The fitness center, however - has been and still is very inconsistent with the rest of the property.  It's old, tired, ugly, unsafe and hasn't been fixed up, and I think rarely cleaned for years.  It's actually horrible. There are pieces of cardio equipment that have signs on them that read "temporarily out of order". And the same signs have been on the same pieces of equipment for at least 6 months (the time between our most recent visits).  If the parts are hard to get (what staff have told us), then they should buy new, updated machines.  The sauna door in the men's locker room has been rubbing against the floor for 5 years.  The tile in the men's steam room is so old and worn, it feels like sitting on sandpaper.  There is mold and rust in the pool area. The walls need paint; the floors need replacing.  In other words - it's really bad in there. My family has been paying to use the Ritz fitness facility on our past 2 trips, and now we're booking rooms there for our next visit.  And we're doing that because of the lack of any investment at all in fitness center.

Exceptional service, spectacular atmosphere, gorgeous views, delicious food, and the golf course is outstanding. Our view was absolutely amazing, and the food all over the property was delicious. I truly was impressed with the staff.

We stayed at the resort in January during the absolute low season. We were fully aware that this is a very quiet time of year and therefore had realistic expectations. While it was indeed very calm, we actually enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, and there is still plenty to see and do in the surrounding area even in January. The resort itself appears to be in the process of being refreshed. In many areas you can clearly see that improvements have already been made, while in others work is still ongoing. Overall, however, everything felt well maintained, clean, and cared for. Our room was absolutely fine and offered a wonderful sea view, which we really appreciated. Cleanliness throughout the resort met our expectations at all times. We only had breakfast at the resort, in the Village at the Marché. As vegetarians, the selection was somewhat limited, but this is something we often encounter in the U.S., so it was not a real disappointment for us. All members of staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which contributed greatly to a pleasant and relaxed stay.

We checked in with friends on a Tuesday and were told Wednesday afternoon that we had to change rooms due to scheduled maintenance. Hard to believe the hotel didn't know about the maintenance when the assigned the initial rooms. New rooms weren't available for several hours. Management appeared totally unconcerned. The only bright spot in our stay were the servers in the lounge as well as the staff in the breakfast restaurant. When we checked out, the manager/attendant at the front desk barely acknowledged us. Beautiful property but the management has room for improvement.
