Our room wasn’t ready when we got there but was ready within 30 mins but that could be attributed to the fact that I had to bring the 4 legged baby at the last min and we needed a room to accommodate him as well. We were supposed to have breakfast but were never told when and where. The pool wasn’t in service at the time probably due to the time of year. Our room on the other hand was great, it was clean free of bugs and in the shower there was body wash and shampoo and next to the sink was soap and lotion. Overall my stay was good but would recommend a book stating check in and check out procedures and local menus also a few local attractions if any. The staff were courteous and attentive. The only reason for 4 stars is due to the pool and breakfast both of which would have made my reason for being there a little lighter.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Our room was large, quiet and comfortable with a nicely updated bathroom and shower. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. The breakfast was small but we didn’t mind that at all.

"Limited Options in Ellsworth...but it'll do."

6.0

I remembered staying here years & year ago during a blizzard. Nothing fancy, very basic but ok for a quick overnight. Priced right, drive up to your own door, micro & fridge w/freezer, in-room coffee, free wifi w/adequate signal, large wall mounted TV. Room appeared to have been remodelled with laminate flooring & walk-in shower. Not "white glove" clean but not gross, although while plugging in my power strip bedside I noticed the square boxed outlet had a thick layer of dust. It had 4 plugs so I was grateful it was handy, as the outlets in the lamps were too high on the wall to accommodate my chargers. Bed linens were clean but pillows were flat & need to be replaced. Wall mounted Dove products at the sink & in the shower were almost empty. None of that was a deal breaker, especially as it's getting harder & harder to find a decent room anywhere for under $100. But, as I write this, I am freezing !!! Granted, it is February & the high today was 24 with 20mph winds out of the north, but I have had the heater on for several hours, cranked up as high as it will go, 90 degrees and still COLD :-/ Blowing warm air, but not enough to take the chill out of this room. Wanting to warm up before taking a shower, I waited & waited & waited some more. Watched John Wayne in True Grit on TCM which was great. Room never did get very warm but thankfully the shower was plenty hot so I lingered, knowing it was gonna be cold the minute I turned the water off. Which it was, floor like ice but happily I had packed fleece lined Minnetonka loafers which made good slippers. I scrambled to get into bed as quickly as possible and slept in long underwear & a beanie lol. Still, the good far outweighed the bad, and I'd probably stay here again.

"Perfect Motel"

10.0

A most pleasant surprise. We were greeted by a most friendly woman who made us feel welcome. She asked if we wanted a handicapped room which we did. The price was reasonable and the room with comfortable king bed was well decorated and clean. The bathroom was spacious and comfortable, The tv was big. Next door within walking distance are Mexican restaurant, a gas station con venience store, liquor store and Pizza Hut. What a great find! Allan and Cheryl-Los Angeles

"Very clean hotel"

Our room was very clean and in very good condition. The breakfast was basic, but the room was clean. There is no shopping within walking distance and only one restaurant (Mexican food), which was next door, but the food was mediocre.

I had a great stay. King-size bed was extremely comfortable. Newly remodeled bathroom with a walk-in shower. A large room with a nice recliner. Microwave and fridge. I recommend this hotel. Great staff. They’re too please.

"Very poor experience, do not recommend."

2.0

When I was searching for a room, I was looking for one with breakfast and a pool and I found this one. I looked over all the amenities and the reviews as I always do, and it said it had a pool and breakfast. When I arrived the lady at the front desk was very friendly, we got to the room and it was nice, but the curtain rod on the window was broken and hanging. When me and my daughter went to go look at the pool there was a smell, and the pool was ice cold. The next morning at around 8am we went to the breakfast room all that was there was 2 types of cereal frosted flakes and raisin bran, a waffle maker with very little batter, a toaster with no toast, but there was strawberry jelly not sure what that would be used for. So, I went to the front desk and the same lady came into the breakfast room and tipped the container that had batter and filled up about half of the little cup and asked me if that was enough! I told her no so she went into her room and came back out with the same container that she had added some more batter in but just enough for a cup. While waiting for the waffle to cook I gave my 2-year-old daughter a thing of yogurt to start eating. When the waffle got done it tasted very old and chalky and she wouldn't eat it and she loves waffles so I tried it and it was bad. I had to search the cabinets and fine the coffee so I could brew a pot which I did find. I grabbed a cup of coffee, and then went to go grab another yogurt do to us not being able to eat anything else and I realized that the yogurt was outdated by a month and I just let my daughter eat over half of a yogurt that was bad cause I was trying to deal with the waffle ordeal. We got back to our room and we were just going to relax until it was time to check out and the electricity shut off and the room was pitch black I had to open the door so I could see to pack, and it was cold and raining. I don't typically write reviews, but my experience here was the worst I have ever seen when checking out she didn't apologize or offer anything for the issues. If you are planning on staying here I would choose somewhere else.

"This Value Inn is my savior!"

10.0

I was blewn off the interstate due to high winds and snowy, slick roads. I recovered my truck from the ditches of I-70, got my truck pointed in the right direction again, and was prepared for a long, icy night on an off ramp in central KS. My only hope was a hotel in Ellsworth that was booked up but promised to call if anyone dropped their reservation. As I layered up in spare clothes, reclined my chair, and mentally strategized how I’d use the remaining fuel for heat, I got a call from an unknown KS number. It was Best Value Inn in Ellsworth! They had a room! I reserved the room and headed that way, cautiously monitoring my speed. My visibility along the old Highway 40 route was hardly 10 feet in front of me. Snow and dirt from the old road swirled in a never ending cascade of dancing visual obstructions that seemed to move without relevance to the laws of gravity! Behind the seemingly benevolent and seductive dance, the evil sirens conspired to lead me to a ditch along the rural highway! I maintained course. My Maps navigation app pointed to my North Star, the Ellsworth Best Value Inn. As the app mileage ticked closer, I kept waiting for catastrophe. A bridge that may be iced over where my truck would again lose control. Or an icy culvert with a particularly steep ditch that promised to finally test the dexterity of my trusty old Chevy pickup. When the artificial voice of navigation finally said “turn right and you have reached your destination” the sign said “Americas Best Value Inn” but all I read was “Sanctuary.” I parked my car in front of the Value Inn’s front desk and walked through its pearly gates of safety and security. I approached the front desk to wait for an opportunity to speak to the front desk attendant. Another refugee from the interstate was checking in. I noticed their OK plates. She explained how Americas Best Value Inn had saved her from the mayhem of the interstate. We wished each other safe travels and then it was my turn. I could finally speak to my savior at the front desk. My Saint Peter was a middle aged Indian man. He stood behind a desk with a plexiglass window and a miniature Indian flag planted in a small bowl or rice colored in layers of saffron, white, and dark green. I thanked him profusely for a room in his heavenly shelter and we discussed the storm. I was so humbled that my Peter had engaged me in idle chatter even if it was really just about the weather! Peter answered several calls from lost souls abandoned in the chaos of the storm. “I’m sorry we have no rooms available,” he said in his Indian accent with a deified tone. He showed me how my key card accessed the pearly gates. And also the WiFi password. I parked my trusty old pickup, scanned my key card, and walked through the pearly columns enclosing my sanctuary. My shelter from the storm. My home. However the guy next to my room is snoring rather loud and I can hear him through the wall. So there’s that.
